This has been going on for awhile. This one may be high profile enough to be a wake up call.

The better joke would have been to say they need a really tall scissor lift to get the water up that high.

I doubt Muslims burned it down, but they're really gonna have to be on their best behavior about this one.

Maybe not. I hope not. Supposedly there was work being done on the spire and police have suggested that may have been the cause. But we know authorities and the media have been loathe to implicate Muslims even in obvious instances.

Better blame them for this one then, just in case.

Apologies in advance for the formatting below.

Didn't roof work cause a fire to one of the big Catholic churches around here about 15 years ago?

Doesn't not implicating someone/something seem like a prudent course of action regardless of who might be involved in any catastrophe?

I haven't blamed anyone. Just pointing out the rash of vandalism against Catholic churches in Europe. I don't really think it would be a shock if this was vandalism too.

I think if you have an epidemic of incidents perpetrated by a group of people sharing an ideology and you go out of your way to pretend that said ideology has nothing to do with the incidents, you're not really looking out for your citizens.

I'm fine with burning down churches but leave the prestigious ones alone. This is just stupid.

That’s a shame . They had a really cushy home schedule coming up this year too.

I don't know if what this author of your article is true or not. But I will say he does have a certain slant to everything he chooses to write. I'm not a huge fan of this type of news when determining if I should broadly apply it in all situations where the possible reason for the offense is the authors apparent foe.

I too think it was probably Muslim terrorism based on nothing.

It really was a highlight of our trip in high school.

It's a shame Muslims can't leave nice things alone.

Why didn't they just use the water tanker copters like the President suggested? No downside to that idea. Thankfully it's 2019 and I'm sure they can just 3D print another one.

Since it seems to be made primarily of stone and it's right next to the Seine river, I wouldn't have thought there would be such a conflagration and that it would get this far out of control.

Apparently the French aren't used to taking care of themselves in emergencies.
