Port Orleans French Quarter.

Port Orleans Riverside has 4 stops though. French Quarter has 1. They claimed they sometimes share buses but it never happened while we were there.

Interesting, I must have stayed at Riverside. The Bus experience sucks because of the strollers(it's Disney what can you do) and scooters/wheelchairs they must accommodate. And I'm not talking about genuine handicapped people. I'm talking about obese adults that have ate themselves into a scooter. It's awful. Takes 10 min just to load those fat asses on the bus.

We did have to wait a few times for that but we planned accordingly with enough time. However, keep in mind the monorail makes a lot of stops, including a transfer to get to Epcot, and doesn't go to Hollywood Studios or Animal Kingdom. So, you may still have to stop at four locations to get to your destination. I think you have to go into Disney realizing that travel is going to take some time no matter where you stay.

Also, we had a backup plan of using the "Minnie Van" service which is their branded version of Lyft. If the lines were too long for the busses we would have just ordered one of those but it never became necessary. We had them do a quote for a few of the Deluxe Resorts compared to Moderate and it was 50% to 100% more expensive in total(including the park tickets and a meal plan with table service for each).

The gondola will be a game changer because then you can monorail it to Epcot than gondola to MGM. Dealing with the cripples isn't bad on the monorail, they got 30 seconds to drive their lard cart into a section or they are out.

And to be clear, the poor kids that need a wheelchair/cart, I dont' mean them. I would give up my seat/wait 30 minutes for them. It's the fat assess that have eaten themselves into disability, I have no time or patience for.

yeah, those fucking scooters are the worst and when a someone runs over your heel at park close it's even better.

Port Orleans French Quarter is probably the nicest moderate resort. You can take a boat to Disney Springs!

We typically stay at Deluxe Resorts as they just work better for us and we'll do split stays as well. Maybe a night at a moderate, 3 nights at one Deluxe and then 3 nights at another Deluxe. Sometimes we'll do club level as they'll have "free" food and drinks throughout the day.

Agreed, though it still looks like it will take a while. I don't understand how they didn't find a way to not have to do a transfer on the monorail to get between Epcot and Magic Kingdom. I bet they wish they could just shut down the monorail completely but Walt Disney thought he had created the future of transportation in pushing it. Maybe AOC can tell us what the future of transportation is now.

Stayed at Port Orleans several times. Not a bigfan of the French Quarter. Riverside (my wife calls it the 'Gone With The Wind' hotel) was great. Boating it to/from Downtown Disney is great, especially if you've had a coupla cocktails.

Don't go insane about fast passes. They were nice, but it also makes you feel like you have a schedule you have to stick to, which can be decidedly unfun.

It feels like it's about 10-15 percent of the people there. It's really quite disturbing.

You get three at a time per day, and they have an hour range to them. So, we did our first two roughly one right after the other, and had the third about an hour and a half later which gave us time to do other stuff or in some cases just do the same ride again if the line wasn't that long. With a little kid they are nice too because you can't really wait in a line for a half hour for anything without them going nuts.

Only time I went to Disney I was under 6. Only thing I still vividly remember is stomping on lizards. So she'll probably remember the fishing.

Keep in mind that when they move your luggage, you bring it down at 8am and it will be in your new room post check-in (4ish-5ish). so, plan accordingly. We made sure we had long park days on the days we'd transfer resorts.

Maybe we did stay at Port Orleans? Whichever one doesn't have the pink/green/teal buildings along the river. Anyway, I really liked that as a moderate.

also, we have had a few occurrences where if you use all 3 of your fast passes, you get a fourth...

fast passes are actually unlimited once you use your first three, based on availability. we got new fast passes all day long wen we were there and it was great. most of the high-profile rides are not available however.

As soon as you scan your third fastpass you can sign up for more. So, we would pick the fourth ride in line for the third. That was nice to do right before we left the park.

Be nice to the workers that monitor the line queues, chat them up, ask about their work. They might give you some "extra fast passes" they keep on hand to pass out if rides break down.

You both are on drugs. So you would wait 2 hours in line to ride splash mountain and brag about how you refuse to give into "conformity" ?

You get a 1 hour window, so the best strategy is to use your first fast pass in the last 15 minutes and then the next one right at the start of your next one. You then have about 1.5 hours until your next one so you can do a lot of stuff in between.

Other than Yacht & Beach club, thats probably my favorite resort.

To be honest, the best time to go(IMO) is in October, lots of times schools will have stupid fall break, teacher institute jack-off, early release days, so piggy back those and maybe they only miss 1-2 days of school yet you can get a full week in. Park is pretty empty. If I'm spending 5-10 grand, I'm sure as shit not going during busy season.

We went in fall of 2016, great experience. I still remember being on the Magic Kingdom boat ferry following the Cubs vs Giants game 4 via phone... I was pitching a fit like a little kid cause the Cubs were losing. People must have thought I was an idiot. Got back to our condo to find out they won..great times.

when it comes to ast passes you need them if you want to ride the high-profile rides without waiting for potentially hours. it isn't really a choice. If you want to ride Flight of Passage at Animal Kingdom without a Fast Pass you literally could be waiting several hours once the mad dash at rope drop subsides. Right now, on a run-of-the-mill Tuesday afternoon, that attraction is 105 minute wait. Or that new Mine Train ride at Magic Kingdom or the Slinky Dog dash roller coaster at Hollywood. We rope dropped that and still had to wait 30 minutes and after that it jumped up to a 2 hour wait the rest of the day. we did one fast pass late morning, one early afternoon and one early evening and never felt rushed like we were on some kind of schedule.

Yeah this is a good point, try not book a fast pass that is in one hour of park opening. It's basically a waste of a pass. If you are getting there when it opens just go right to a premium ride, or as I said book a character breakfast in the park which basically gives you another fast pass as you beat the rope dash even.
