Where is Garry Meier, is he formally out of the business? I know He's like 70.

He was on WCPT with Joan Esposito recently. He’s still doing a daily podcast and claims to be doing ok financially...I think he’s in California these days.

Even if he had never saved a penny, his wife made enough that they'd still be comfortably retired.

True but I meant he implied that the podcast was profitable.

Yeah, everybody says that.

I agree it’s highly questionable. On the other hand he’s been doing it for several years now so who knows.

I was as big as a Steve and Gary fan as existed and I didn't even know Garry had a podcast. No way the podcast is making money.

They always portrayed him as the hip, young bachelor on the show, but he is older than Dahl. He's pushing 70 now, made money in the business and I think only had one kid. I'd be surprised if he didn't have enough for a comfortable retirement.

really? She was a realtor. Some of them can make fantastic money but I think she was out pretending to be a talent agent before the real estate boom years.

During the Roe and Garry years, her office was in the office building at Clark and Randolph across from the Thompson Center. She'd frequently meet Garry for a late lunch at my dad's diner before his show. My dad's comment at the time was that she was doing pretty well.

That's the Chicago Title building. She was probably going to real estate closings to pick up her check. If she didn't own the realty company her cut was a fraction.

I find it very difficult to tell which realtors are doing well financially because they all seem to put so much money into the appearance that they are doing well financially.

I joke about these downtown female realtors that it is the bridge job between actress and escort.

Jorr, you have to have a few Chet stories. Any that you can share with the group?

I didn't really know Chet. I crossed paths with him at the Evanston-New Trier football game a time or two. One time he was wearing a ridiculous fur coat.

My friend Jimmy is taking Chet's death really hard. Jimmy is a radio legend in his own right and he and Chet worked together back at the old WMAQ.

Is that Jimmy Kezios, by chance. He is a legend. Tell him I said hello. Maybe he remembers me. I knew him through Mike Hillstrom.

 Of course you know Jimmy. Jimmy knows everybody! I'll tell him Sarley says hello when I talk to him.
