Would you really want a 25/26yr old failed football player, at that point?

Moncada is probably 26

Commited himself to NFL, I would never draft a 5' 7" QB

I keep reading this guy is 5'10. No chance, look at this pic with Tua ( 6'2") Haskins( 6'3")

Starting QB and first round pick is a better paying job unless you become a top 20 player in MLB. If he was a WR likely to go in the 4th round or later, MLB would be better. He wont get to free agency until his early 30s in MLB and to take home huge arbitration numbers he has to become a top player in MLB. He can get a large NFL contract at QB being average.

The current CBA is done after the 2021 season and there will a dramatic reduction in service time leading up to FA. After 2021, MANY 26 and 27 yr olds will be unrestricted. Unfortunately for Murray, 22 is a bad age to just be starting a baseball career.

Players union will cave to owners before service time goes down. Owners always win.

They already have a sizable war chest to distribute among the lesser players if there's a strike. This ain't football or hockey.

We hired the fired Texas Tech coach, ditched the guy we drafted last year, and we drafted this former baseball player, now tiny QB one-year wonder number 1 overall. What could go wrong?

Yep, and that's part of the problem. Honestly, I do not like any the the QBs drafted in the first round this year. Teams talk themselves into these guys.

Who knows? Honestly I think a lot of these quarterbacks have careers dictated by their situations. If they have good teams around them they learn, and grow into becoming good. Others are bludgeoned in their early years and never recover.

He is not going into a good situation.

Even if he is slightly below average he will make more money than he ever would as baseball player. He wouldn't see free agency until he was 31 or 32. That is if he even made it.

Not ones that double as running backs, and look like they are really 5'9' 190.

Oh like Barry Sanders huh? That would make him the third best runner you ever saw behind Sanders and Lynch.

5 passes a game batted down. Guy is a midget. Rosen will have a better career.

Seems like Arizona was in an ideal spot to trade down a time or two. I’m not sure anyone trades up for Murray. Drop down a few times and if he is still there at 10-12 grab him and bank a could 1st or 2nd rounders.

If he does he taken you roll with Rosen as if Murray was a bluff the whole time.

Good luck blocking for a 5'9" ( tops) QB that has to roll out every pass to find a window. I know you can't crush the QB anymore but he'll be hit harder than he's ever been hit. This guy is a bust.

Now he's also Barry Sanders? Slightly different frames. Did you expect his former head coach to say at his size it only takes a few hits to take him out?

I am not a believer in any of this group of first round quarterbacks. Mayfield looked good last year, which certainly helped Murray.

Has a team ever gone against the grain this significantly with a #1 overall pick in NFL?

They took the top rated qb #1. Not really against the grain.
