But now that the Giants have made their move and seemingly selected their quarterback of the future in Daniel Jones, I’m not so sure Manning’s time is up. Last season Eli had a 66.0 percent completion rating and averaged 7.5 yards per pass with 21 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. And last year, Jones had a 60.5 completion rating while averaging 6.8 yards per attempt with 22 touchdowns and nine interceptions … at Duke. In college. Against the 52nd-toughest strength of schedule in Division I. Manning had better stats in the pros than Jones did at Duke. Unless Jones improves his play while also playing against a significantly tougher level of competition, Manning is probably the better quarterback.

 As bad as the Gary pick was this was even worse

The quote also fails to mention that Jones was playing for a great offensive head coach. I thought he regressed last year.

Conversely, no one ever mentions how Haskins was playing for a part time HC subbing in for Coach Dead Man Walking, yet consistently improved throughout the year.

That was only for a few games.

And a training camp that had to be schizophrenic. Especially as a first year starter.

Meh.. talk is cheap. Jones will sit and learn for 1 year at most. I wouldn’t put much stock in a random interview right after day 1. Doesn’t mean anything.

Drew Lock will be better than Jones and Haskins. Drew Lock will at worst be a league average starter. He's the most impressive quarterback I've seen in person since Brees.

Yeah but his whole narrative is disturbing. The only reason Rodgers sat that long was because Favre was still damn good quarterback. Eli Manning has been dead for four years now.

And it shows a distinct lack of awareness for the value of a rookie QB's contract

GB front office was begging Farve to retire, they didn't have the balls to release him or let him hit FA.

Like Khalil Mack.

They will rue the day they traded Mack and then passed on Allen all within one year

I might, but they won't. 10 year plan and all. You have to understand something, this is really a huge win - they didn't trade up for Murray/Bosa/Williams and they didn't draft Haskins.

So far the Raiders have traded Mack for Josh Jacobs and the 'delta value' between the Bears first rounder in 2020 and the Raiders 2020 2nd rounder. Some plan...

 One of these days you will have an original thought.

This ain't it.

It's not an opinion or anything, I'm simply tallying the score/output so far of the Mack trade. That is where it stands today.

Be honest though, in September, when the Mack trade went down, I'm sure you fancied yourself with something much nicer than "Josh Jacobs".?

Eli is near done, I think there’s good odds on Jones playing this year if and when it’s official the Giants are numerically eliminated from playoff contention.

There’s also a slight chance dude is trying to keep a poker face in the event a team desperate for a QB might want to kick Eli’s tires on a trade.

Like I said, that interview doesn’t mean much. It’s hot air.

What is wrong with you, Bob?

A time of deep mourning and refection began on September 2nd, 2018. Not too focused on the 2019 draft.

The Giants have rightly been catching a lot of shit here, but I think the Dolphins deserve a shoutout too. DT might be the only position where they didn't need anyone and yet they went ahead and grabbed another one.

I’m with you on both picks. Guys who are athletic freaks with limited production either lack the motor or don’t work on their game. It’s egotistical to think you can coach that into them. I do like the Savage pick. I finally feel like they’ve solidified their secondary.

If they could get Irv Smith or DJ Metcalf in the 2nd I’d be fine with that.

Dolphins just traded their #48 overall pick for Josh Rosen.

I want AJ Brown, or an OT if they like him, but I'd be fine either either of those picks as well. I don't really like DK much but he's fine at 44. People who were mocking him to GB at 12 were making my eyes bleed. He'd pair well with Davante

Impossible. The entire draft class sucks, remember?

Why not take a flyer on Drew Lock at this point if you’re Denver

Limited route tree and only typically played on one side of the field.. he has injury history too I believe

I’m digging all these RB’s sliding on down the draft board. Should leave the Bears with some nice options.. if a run starts on them soon I’d expect Pace to possibly trade up using one if next years 2nd rounders as leverage..

His physical talent is ridiculous.. his actual skill is questionable. But now is when you take shots at guys like him in the draft imo.
