Enjoy casual dress at work brought to you by the generation that didn't need unions to allow us to be comfortable for 40+ hours a week! Now we get to work at home too!

 You work a 168 hour week. Eugene Debs is rolling in his grave.

I do? Are you counting the 60 hours a week I spend on here?

At least you get overtime. #Fasttrackers like Rick and IMU have been fooled by their corporate masters into being on call 24/7. "HEY GUYS, I GOT A FREE iPHONE!"

What's next? Will BRick champion the resurgence of Taylorism under Bezos, Inc.?

Well, at least I don't have to thank unions for having weekends.

Yeah the OT is everything.

Salary up here is a joke unless you are in the $250k+ range with a 2 week on/ 2 week off schedule like the consultants who oversee the frac/drilling locations.

I would’ve thanked the Unions if they had better negotiators. Couldn’t even get 3 out of 7 days off? Weak.

To be fair, I think it’s a bunch of people who have never been in the union, but are enamored with the idea of it!

Everyone is enamored with the idea of it. Unions invented the weekend.

How many unions have you been a member of?

What difference does that make? We all enjoy benefits that had to be fought for by Unions. I'm sorry you only see Unions through the lens of the mobbed up one with which you are most familiar. Enjoy the upcoming weekend which has been brought to you courtesy of Unions.

I'm not in a field currently that has ever been unionized.

May Day, why that's the Russian New Year! We'll have a big parade and we'll serve hot hors d'oeuvres...

Samuel Gompers was a guest many times at the home of my great grandparents.

My great grandpappy was such an amazing union organizer that the Cook County State's Attorney had him picked up on a murder charge.

No, it wasn't Kimm Foxx

There are unions that add value and there are unions that don't. Many of the trade unions require years of apprenticeship and the passage of a written and practical test before someone can be a journeyman. There area also unions that don't necessarily represent a "skilled" workforce, but can provide an employer with some work force stability. It's also odd how a huge percentage of government workers are unionized, but workers that can actually use the protection of a union, like people working in meat processing plants or agriculture, aren't.

Depends if we are talking private or public unions, too.

Edit: I should start reading other people's posts before commenting.

Wouldn’t be proudly displaying the hammer and sickle if Inwas a May Day guy. Kinda like displaying the Nazi symbol.
