Hahn has had four years to prove himself and he’s been one of the worst GMs in modern sports history.

Reinsdorf needs to die, preferably sooner than later, so I can see a competitive Sox team again before I’m 50.

Hahn has been in charge for 2 years. Before that, Kenny was still the final say on baseball decisions (in his own words). When Hahn got his way, he started the rebuild.

You're right.

It's much more likely Kenny was falling on the sword for Hahn.

Noted selfless that guy Kenny is.

How are you actually ruling this out considering how incompetent both Reinsdorf teams have been over the last decade and in his failure to make any organizational changes whatsoever? He needs to die so I can root for good teams again. I don't feel bad about this opinion.

I'm saying Kenny was still running the show up until 2016. If you want to think Kenny was simply taking the fall for Hahn, I guess I'll just disagree and say that doesnt mesh with anything that we know about Kenny Williams.

Reinsdorf has been the most successful owner in Chicago sports history.

Michael Jordan has been the most dominant player in Chicago sports history and I wouldn't want him as my starting 2 guard this year.

Reinsdorf is on the very short list of worst owners in American sports the last decade. A decade is not a small sample size. He needs to sell the team but he won't ever do that so I hope he dies very soon and someone better takes over.

I don't disagree he needs to go, but his son is going to take over. He's basically already running the Bulls.

People seem to think that is not a good thing as Michael is worse than his dad.

Who knows though.

He's already instructed his sons to sell the Sox when he dies. Mind you, he'll be dead at that point, so I don't suspect they have to listen to him. However, if and when that sale happens, say hello to the Las Vegas White Sox.

MLB will not approve relocations. They want expansion. This is open policy that is confirmed by the current commissioner any chance he gets to talk to the media.

If someone buys the White Sox with even the suspicion that the new owner will relocate the sale will not be approved. If a new owner somehow gets the franchise and then tries to relocate it they will be blocked.

MLB has (correctly) surmised that there are at any given time about 100 major league caliber ballplayers playing at AAA and AA. That is a conservative estimate, by the way. There is more than enough talent to increase the size of the league by 10%.

-The union likes this, as it means more union members.
-The league likes this, as it means more revenue. Remember, baseball's support comes provincially. People care about what's happening with regards to their team.
-Most other owners like it. Maybe Yankees, Dodgers, Boston and the Cubs dont but everyone else does. Most teams will not see their fans poached by expansion franchises. More owners feeding into MLB profit sharing means more profits to share.

Bullshit. Papa Bear Halas. Without Michael Jordan, Reiny is just another slum lord real estate guy.

Yes. It will not happen again for a very long time. They admit leaving Montreal was a huge mistake.

The league was open to the idea of contracting a team out of Minneapolis not too long ago also. Be that as it may, there's 3 other franchises worse off than the White Sox. So yeah, the odds of a "Las Vegas" White Sox are long odds. The odds aren't so long for for one of the Florida teams. Jeter in particular. I think it's his PLAN to leave Dodge.

White Sox have a sweetheart lease until 2029. They have zero reasons to move until then.

Uncle Jerry's loyalty hasn't been the problem I believe his son learning on the job has been the biggest issue. For over 30 years Uncle Jerry has put more competitive and winning Chicago teams on the field/court than all other Chicago teams combined. There should be a statue erected somewhere on the southside for him.

That's a real bad take. Rodon will never have the career Lester has had, but I'd take him over Lester for their next 60 starts.

 That's an odd set of parameters.

Rodon will probably have one real ACE like year

But that's most guys. I don't think it's out of the question for Jose Quintana to have an 18-4 season.

Jon Lester is the Cubs' ace. If you think he's going to be better than Rodon over the next two seasons, I'd say think again.

I've always been on the Rodon train, just a weird set of parameters. If Lester keeps pitching like an ace, rodon probably wont be better, if Lester doesnt pitch like an Ace, then Rodon being better doesnt really prove anything.

Was that even on the table?

I know the speculation here has been made about the Nationals offer but I seem to recall a handshake agreement that was nixed by Nats ownership.

It was a good trade and judging the Sox end by today's production is like picking an apple off a tree in the spring and saying it sucks.

The point is, I'm sure RFDC wasn't suggesting the Cubs have a bad group of starting pitchers. And I'm 100% certain that- barring injury to either guy- Rodon will be better than Lester over the next two seasons.

What I heard was, the package they got for Eaton plus Robbles for Sale. Never heard anything better than what the Sox got from the Sawx.

Acuna / Albies was almost definitely on the table. Keep in mind Acuna a fast riser, nowhere near #1 (more like #30), and few saw Albies being as good as he's become. Depending if the Sox could've gotten Newcomb or some other arm also it definitely would've been seen as a weaker deal.

Robles/Soto/Giolito was on the table from the Nationals if the Sox wanted it. I dont think they even asked for that kind of deal. The Nats probably would've been more willing to part with Lopez than Soto in December 2016.

I think the Nationals deal was better than Boston's then, and is clearly better than Boston's now. Braves much harder to fault them for. Albies looked like David Eckstein in the minors and Acuna was really raw heading in the 2017 season. The real problem is that they didn't get Devers, Benintendi or even Groome on top of the package they received. Basabe should've been the fourth piece.

Still got like 55 more starts for each guy. Not Jorr’s fault Rodon’s will take 4 more years to hit.
