I just got exclusive footage of Paul Pierce working out before the game.

Will he play? Can he do it?

Here is the workout.

He's a Willis Reed-esque warrior. He'll play despite his near broken leg.

Dude, you can't start a slow clap at any time and expect everyone to join in. You have to wait for the right moment.

According to Doc, if Boston does things better then the Lakers, they are gonna win. And who says the coaching matchup favors LA? Thats some wisdom right there.

With any luck we can have Hoffney pay a Sutcliffe-esque visit up here to the booth.

I like watching Ray Allen matchup with Kobe. The NBA needs to institute a rule where whenever two players on opposite teams hate eachother, its mandatory they guard eachother the whole game.

KG is not protecting the paint defensively like he needs to. Gasol posterized him pretty badly, and Odom and Kobe got a couple offensive boards over him. He's passing well out of potential double teams, but he keeps taking 16-18 footers. I dont think he has one shot in the paint yet. He cant play like a 7 foot guard.

You need to do your job Kevin, alot better.

Question for you hoops junkies. If the Celtics happen to win this series, will that end all of the Kobe is better than MJ nonsense or will it live to fight another day?

He's struggling with his shot a lot so far this series. He cant come up short on the biggest stage again. MJ never lost a Finals series.

I dont know of anyone saying he's better. I think he's almost on MJ's level now, but we'll see. Im gonna be surprised if Boston wins this series. If the Lakers do win the Finals, it will be the youngest Lakers team to ever win it. They're in a great position right now. They will be competing for titles for the next 5-7 years. So in short, I guess the answer is we'll see. We'll know 5 years from now if Kobe is gonna be on MJ's level historically. If I had to guess, right now I would say when Kobe retires he will be considered right there with MJ.

He's not better than Jordan. Win or lose. But he's pretty damn good. Let's just leave it at that.

Everybody has to relax about this series. It doesn't start until a home team loses.

I said every home team will win until game 7 when Kobe scores 60 and gives the Lakers the title. It's gonna happen that way.

Kobe's getting frustrated and throwing up garbage the last two posessions. Good point by Van Gundy that the pick n roll was working and got the lead under double digits and they just stop going to it for whatever reason.

21 assists on 24 baskets for the Celtics is an unbelievable stat. Great ball movement and that says the Lakers arent staying home enough on defense.

Celtics up by 20 now late in the third.

It will always be pushed by the media when the Lakers are in the finals, but realistically it ends any chance he will be considered better. The greatest player in NBA history can't be outplayed by Paul Pierce.

This series is far from over though, especially once the Lakers return home and get a little home cooking. The Lakers better win the next three games though or I think the Celtics have the series all but wrapped up.

I agree but its not like Pierce is a nobody. He's been a pretty overlooked player untill this season/postseason. He's one of those star players that works just as hard on defense as offense, a quality which for some reason always seems to go unnoticed, and is very unselfish. But yeah he is outplaying Kobe, Im not sure whats going on with Kobe right now. For like a 3 minute stretch in that last quarter he "got it" and was making the best move/play every possible time he touched it, then he went into Weird Kobe mode again and started bitching to the refs, jacking up contested shots with 20 seconds left on the shot clock, and gambling on D and letting up easy buckets on the other end. He needs to get his shit together when they go back to LA.

Yeah thats the ballgame right there. Terrible shot by the Lakers, nice play by Pierce. Kobe needs the ball in his hands on that last posession.

Hopefully this doesnt effect the C's going into next game. It would have been a historic collapse.

Who guards Ray Allen then? They have nobody that can keep up with him the way he moves without the ball.

I think its clear by now who the leader of the Celtics is, if it wasnt before the playoffs. KG sparked the turnaround but it's clearly Pierce's team.

I expect the home team to get a little advantage with the refs but I think it went a little overboard the first 2 games. I'm sure Phil will complain about it tonight and tomorrow. I was hoping he got a tech but he remained calm.

Yeah Boston got the edge in officiating but you know the drill, in general the more aggressive team wins the officiating advantage. Boston was way, way more aggressive then the Lakers. Kobe wasnt getting the MVP calls either. Ray Allen plays him very well.

If Vlad guarded Ray Allen for significant minutes Ray would score 30. The reason Vlad cant guard Pierce is quickness and agility, and Ray is quicker and runs around alot more than Pierce. I think they need to have Fisher and Farmar run around with Ray, Kobe guard Rondo but double team whoever has the ball, and count on Rondo not being able to beat them with jumpers. Kobe would also prevent Rondo from getting 16 assists in one game.
