I realize the guy is a productive hitter, but his D has been bothering me all season. One of these misreads and missed throws are going to cost the good guys an important game at some point.

Hopefully we'll be enough games in front of the division when that happens.

I thought the same thing earlier in the year but was told by someone on the board that he (Quentin) has a rifle (also used cannon) arm and catches everything. He's grown on me but I still just think he's average.
I'm just happy we don't have Peter Pan out in left field anymore.

His anticipation doesn't seem to be adequate. I was in the left field seats by the bullpen the other day and could tell that , like Rowand, he is a split second late when he charges for fly balls.

If I'm not mistaken, Carlos Quentin underwent shoulder surgery before he got traded to the White Sox from the Arizona Diamondbacks in the offseason. The bad throws he's made, I think, have been the result of that surgery. After a closer examination of his batting stance, he resembles a certain someone who played briefly for the Sox before ratting out certain players in the ongoing steroid probe...Jose Canseco. It may be a tad lower for Carlos, but they appear very similar in stance.

omg quentin totally uses steroids all the time and that's the only reason he's good
also his defense sucks let's trade him for some beanpole slap hitter who steals a lot of bases

No, no, no! I didn't say Quentin uses steroids, but his batting stance is similar to that of Canseco, only a little lower.
