We've had pretty good lucky the past few years with board members getting tickets. Let's hope that trend continues!

Let's also hope that person who wins is me! 8)

My sister in law just called and said she got 4 for Tuesday. She’s not even a golfer she was just entering to help us out with the odds. Guess we need to figure out if we are going to go or not. Nice decision to have to make.

I just registered for 2021.

Looked at Stubhub...$7500 for a 4-day pass for 2020. Face is $115 each day I think.

Nothing doing :(

I don't know why I let myself get my hopes up every year even more now than when I actually 'won' the chance to buy tix.

There is an offer on the table from someone my mom knows to buy the Tuesday tickets for $750 each. We are going to try to convince my sister in law to take the money and run rather than going ourselves.

Yes and no. For that kind of dough she should sell. It’s fun to go but not always fun getting there and finding lodging. After getting rained out last time and spending a lot for our own secondary market tickets it is s double edged sword.

That makes sense. Good problem to have.

My sister in law finally got around to unloading her 4 practice round tickets to that ticket broker. She sold each $75 ticket for $800 a piece. I’ve never won the lottery but I think I’d do the same and go on a nice golf trip.

The market for these tickets has gone insane. When I won the practice round tix in 2016, I sold my extra two to a doctor at my wife's work for $800. For the Monday practice round, $400ea is on the low end of what they were going for online at the time I sold them in March.

Now its $800+ for Monday and $1000+ for Weds.

That is a hellava return, but Augusta is such a special place I would go again in a heartbeat. I have a standing Gentleman's Agreement with a buddy that if either of us 'win' practice round tickets, us two and our spouses are going as a group.

Yeah. So uh, anybody want to try their luck with travelling?

Quote:
This year the lowest price for this year’s opening round of The Masters Tournament is $1,458 on StubHub and just $1,080 on SeatGeek (per listings on Tuesday afternoon).

“With fears growing about the coronavirus, and the plummeting stock market, get-in prices for the tournament are down 30 percent and at a five-year low,” said Jesse Lawrence, the founder of TicketIQ.

Those are the list prices, not what’s actually selling, so it is likely to go even lower if concerns increase.

And the price drop has been sudden, with SeatGeek’s prices down 51 percent in the past seven days alone.

It’s no better on StubHub, where from March 3-March 10, prices have fallen dramatically.

A badge for Monday’s practice round was $650 and is now $400 (down 38.5 percent), Tuesday went from $735 to $480 (down 33.8 percent), Wednesday went from $1,270 to $650 (48.9 percent) and Thursday from $2,515 to $1,458 (42.1 percent).

If these practice rounds get to $200 a ticket, I'm going to seriously have to consider making a trip.
