I love seeing Swisher come through today. He's been the main source of frustration by Sox fans, and rightfully so, but to me he comes off as very likeable in interviews and on camera. I'm rooting for him.

Indians beat the Tigers.

Current standings

Sox -
Twins--- 6.5
Indians- 8.5
Tigers-- 11
Royals-- 12.5

Wow!!! It's official for me. It now would be disapointing if we don't win the division. I expect them to. I wouldn't have said that a week ago. I thought they had a shot. Knew they would be in it in September. Now I expect them to win it.

I expect them to also but the Indians have the talent to make an extended run at it, and they have done it before. Still alot of baseball left to be played, although it is hard to temper the enthusiasm.

Now let's hope the young guys in the rotation, Mr. Danks and Floyd, can hold up all season. We saw how poorly Danks faded last year and, of course, Floyd has never pitched a full season in the bigs, so both are still second-half question marks in my eyes.

And let's hope the bullpen (Scott Linebrink, I'm looking at you) has a strong second half/postseason.

As bad as the Sox offense was playing, they were still statistically better than the Indians. That is bad. The Indian relievers have been awfull. Jake Westbrook is now gone for the year.

Not only do I not expect a run out of the Indians, I expect a sell off from them sometime after July 4.

That is the beauty of this race. Neither the Tigers or Indians are young teams that are building towards the future. That means they will sell off veterans rather than wait for them to come around which will result in a no stress pennant race. The Twins simply do not have the starting pitching or hitting to make a big run.

Arent the Twins relatively young? I expect the Sox to win the division also at this point, but its far from a certainty.

The Twins pen, outside of Nathan, is not that good either. Especially with Neshek gone for the year.

I will be shocked if Sabathia is still on the Indians the week after the all star break.

It's also officially acceptable to start using WE when referring to our team.

WE is only viable if you are an employee of said team, or its college and the school is your alma matre. If your child attends that college, using the term "we" is still up for debate.

I disagree. To me WE is the same as OUR when referring to our team. As fans that pay for tickets, merchandise, invest so much time in the teams, etc. I dont have a problem with the term. Im as guilty as anyone here of using it. I always say we when referring to the Packers, Sox, Bulls, etc. I dont think its as big a deal as some people make it out to be.

This as been a topic of discussion in numerous threads, as well as one of its own for a long time here, and there is no consensus on it.

Packers are publicly held, so we is entirely appropriate.

As for the Sox, well, I coached a Sox little league team last year so I can say we. Saying we about the Pirates this year does not have the same feel.

I'm not really stalking you as there will never be a meeting. I am merely observing you.

That was a proper choice in deoderant this morning.
