Listen pal, it cost a lot of money to keep a palace like Pimlico looking this, uhm, nice.

God.... save the hardon for the old lady

at the dump, Race 12 the 7-Real Story will be a Real Value. Might be the lone speed on turf going two turns. Johnny V in the saddle isn't the best turf rider but if he can walk them around the first 3/4 he'll finish best of all. 10/1 m/l should go higher.

Also MY GUY Cowboy Culture races tomorrow at Churchill Race 8 (PP#8). Should be a very competitive race, and I'm positive he'll do well.

She is still out on the course. The horses in the next two races may pass her.

Yeah, that was a bad race for me.

Not sure if you all saw the horse go down yesterday. I thought it was a poor decision in the TV truck to keep showing the rescue efforts. Initially they thought it was simply the heat that brought her down, but she had had a heart attack and died. I believe the truck took the initial information and was hopeful she would pop right up after being cooled with water. The fact that they were on-line with the curtains being brought out is just simply bad producing and not what this sport needs.

And the cable-cam (like everything else in that dump) sucks.

If I end up losing this PK-5 by a fucking nose I may commit suicide.

So, today a guy comes up to me and says, "They're setting up the fifth at Golden Gate for the 4 horse. He won't lose. Bet all day." I'm a handicapper not a gossip monger, so I didn't give it much thought. I've heard stories like that a million times. But I did make it a point to watch the race. The 4 stood in the gate at the start and got away last. He caught the field but coming for home the 3 horse had made a big move around him and was drawing away. The race was over. Suddenly the rider on the 3 starts shoulder checking left. Then he grabbed the horse in a strange way and jumped off. The 4 came shooting through and won easily. The guy walked back over smiling and said, "I told you." Watch the race yourself and tell me what you think.

The jumping jock was lucky he wasn't tramped by the 5 horse.

Reminds me of something a while back I think we discussed here, a rider inexplicably fell off a horse during a stretch run I think at Gulfstream which cost a guy (or few, I cannot recall) a big pick 6 payout.

Yeah, it's hard to believe that a guy would be crazy enough to jump off a horse with an entire herd coming up behind him. I don't really think the guy who busted up the PK-6 at Gulfstream did that on purpose. But this thing yesterday, after a guy explicitly told me the race was fixed, and the way the jock looks before he comes off, it does give me pause.

So there's a jockey the runs a lot at Arlington Park and he finds himself in trouble from time to time....as a way of officers looking the other way, he tells them of a horse he's riding soon that may have a shot. He told them about a horse that was double odds on the ML, and sure enough, won at double odds as well.

Speaking of a rider falling inexplicably off, what was Velazquez doing with his feet out of the irons in the gate that caused him to lose balance him to fall off Bodexpress? You're not ready in the gate at the Preakness??? That horse was full of run, so much that he beat horses with riders after a slow start and then ran an extra lap. He could have beaten War of Will that day.

Johnny V. should not be coddled but fined and suspended. That really pissed me off and cost me $$$.

I wasn't too far off on Owendale either.

That wasn't Velasquez's fault. These horses are moving around in the gate. He was trying to get himself situated while Improbable was melting down once again. That was all the fault of the assistant starter that was handling Bodexpress.

Hope they run him in the Belmont. Put Desormeaux on him. He knows how to ride a horse.

I'd take J.R. over Desormeaux any day of the week. But Velazquez is likely to be on a better horse in the Belmont.
