Why did they take a week off? The time lapse has completely killed my interest. It is going to be hard to get back into this after that massive and completely ridiculous break.

Pulling for the Blues but my head tells me Bruins in 6.

Hopefully, the layoff will hurt Rask's game. He's been on fuego.

They schedule each series going to 7 games.

If a gun was held to my head, I would be pulling for Boston, but deep in my heart, I am hoping for a large meteorite to hit the TD Garden right after the National Anthem.

 True.

Mac made a good point last week actually. I just don’t have the hate for STL I used to.

Not exactly, I don't think. I think they make up the first three rounds as they go, but the Stanley Cup Final dates are set up ahead of time to coordinate with NBC and make sure hockey doesn't pre-empt anything too important (The Voice, Single-Camera Sitcom With No Laugh Track That Isn't As Funny As The Office, the show where the family is always sad). So they finished up the conference finals a little early and now have to wait longer.

Had they gone to game 7s I think it would have ended around the 23/24 or something like that. 3-4 days off after those series for the cup finals isn't a lot. IMO

No self-respecting Blues fan ever rooted for our team, no need to do it for them.

Bill Simmons, being one of those rich-little-shit basketball fans, has always been contemptuous of anyone who likes the Bruins, so they sort of escape the whole Boston...thing.

These teams seem pretty even overall. I think it will come down to goal tending. Give me the veteran over the rookie in these situations. And the Blues seem to have a little of the "happy to be in the finals" thing going on.

Bruins in 6

I like the Bruins. They are the EC team I am most familiar with for some reason.

Agreed. I'm sure you remember the mid-2000s run of hot-goalie-outta-nowhere teams running out of gas in the Final: '02 Hurricanes, '03 Ducks, '04 Flames, '06 Oilers. Today's Binnington is just yesterday's Roloson.

Also, clear advantage in HoFers on the Boston side: Bergeron and Chara as sure as anyone's ever been, Marchand maybe, Krejci I'll listen with one ear. For St. Louis, it's Tarasenko maaaaybe? Too early to tell. Ryan O'Reilly, fuck off.

Only the Blues could make Boston look like one of the cleanest teams in the league.

Boston needs to take advantage of their opportunities. They should have like 5 goals

Ya, the power play looked like a pass fest until McAvoy said fuck this and took it in himself.

"The ice is starting to deteriorate due to the heat and humidity"?? This is the Cup finals and you don't have grade A ice?

It's ridiculous, but it's a lot better than it used to be. The Boston Garden, Buffalo Auditorium, and Colisee de Quebec didn't have any air conditioning, so the places would start fogging up, and that usually wasn't even Memorial Day weekend.

Well, you have one team that's been to two Finals and won one in this decade, and the other has pretty much been a barrel of fuckups with a hot goalie fresh out of the AHL. About what you'd expect.
