Vinny Del Negro said this three times in his opening press conference. Sounds like he's talking from the Jurktionary.

What does this mean? That he has pre planned his deceitfulness to the city of Chicago?

For anyone that wasn't listening, he meant preconceived, but said predeceived notions 3 times already.

I guess it means he already knows that he's pulled a fast one on the city of Chicago.

Vinny Del Negro is the basketball Russ Grimm. How the hell could this fool ever impress anyone in an interview?

No, no. He looks more like an organic food eating vegetarian, not a meat and potatoes kind of guy like Grimm. Vinny is more like Vincent Laguardia Gambini, a back alley law school grad trying to get his client acquitted in a murder trial. My fear is that the outcome for the Bulls might be very different. I like Bernstein's theory, that he was hired in advance of drafting Derek Rose. If Rose turns out good, they'll quickly/cheaply get rid of Vinny and get someone who can coach.

We already need an SOS for our #1 pick. Talk about walking into a dysfunctional situation.

Why not just start out with someone who can coach?

The only one who met that criteria was a gentleman so overwhelmed by his affection for his potential boss the couldn't bear seeing him in paralyzing angst. Everyone else was pretty much a gamble with similar odds.

Did you actually listen to the press conference? Both Del Negro and the Chicago press performed very poorly in this media fiasco.

While the media managed only a few intelligent questions, Del Negro's responses to them were less than reassuring. He was vague to the point of incoherence, offering no substantive descriptions of his basketball philosophy or coaching strengths when directly asked about them. My favorite response to a question came when he was asked to name the coaches who had been most influential in shaping his approach to the game. He responded by saying that he "just spoke with Doug Collins the other day...And Greg Popovich last night." Could it be that Vinny, the self-proclaimed "great communicator" Del Negro doesn't actually understand English? Because if he did comprehend the question, his answer indicates that Pax may have just hired the Village Idiot. Del Negro will obviously be judged by how his team performs on the court, but his performance at today's press conference doesn't inspire much hope for the coming season.

D'Antoni and Collins both have successful coaching histories. Rick Carlisle was also available. That's three guys right off the top of my head.

Midge, this is gold, man. I haven't laughed listening to radio this much since that interview B&B did with hangover fighting Coop in Cleveland after the Sox clinched the playoff spot in Detroit in 2005.

I was referring to Paxon and Reinsdorf as the "interviewER(s)"...in past tense, but yes the media didn't step up either.

That's what happens when you hire a party clown to be your head coach. Too bad Vinny didn't bring a big red nose and a unicycle to the press conference.

This is the guy who's supposed to resonate with the fans?

Pax must think we're a bunch of morons.
