Kap and Jesse were discussing him the other day , talking about maybe it’s time to pull the plug on him, fresh start somewhere else . They then hit upon the big thing with him that I guess I never noticed about him but it’s dead on. Pitchers are able to get him out in the zone . He misses his pitch too often in the sequence . He has a good eye but he’ll never take that next step ( if ever ) until he puts those pitches in play more often . That’s where Baez improved despite all the swing and miss in his game , when the pitcher leaves it over the plate , he mashes it, Schwarber misses it or fouls it off.

He's not taking what the pitchers are giving him, he is taking what he wants. He is slightly better than a hitter who can't read the spin of the ball and determine the type of pitch. He can do it, but not in the required time frame. That has to be why he continues to be frozen at the plate on countless 2 strike pitches. He knows what the hell the pitches look like as he was a catcher for years. There has to be a reaction time issue. If it is not correctable they should sell high. This is about as productive as he has been in a long tie.
