Tune into CLTV news tonight, it's the first night they have their own studio, ever.

They've always been in the news room.

I hate it. Part of the appeal for me was that it WAS in the newsroom. It made it seem no-frills simple, without a bunch of personalities. Just quick and dirty news. Now they wanna get a studio? Why?

Just keep it simple. It's owned by WGN. So let WGN be the fancy newscast (and even that is not as fancy as ABC and NBC), and leave CLTV to be basic.

What do you think?

I turn it on maybe on NYE or a local election day to see the mood of the city. Otherwise, it does not exist.

It's just "Children", as in "Children Learning Television". At least that's what a friend, who got her start as an anchor there, once told me.

CLTV should have adopted a format more like C-SPAN, just show events around Chicagoland and NWI with no political commentary. Run ads on a banner at all times.

WGN has something like 10-11 hours of local news between 4am-11pm. Who the fuck needs more? Maybe rerun the 9pm news at 1am on CLTV and be done with it.
