Like I said, Rogers had gone 7 innings in each of his last 3 games, giving up just 1 run to Cleveland, 2 to Oakland and 0 to The Angels. The pitchers Detroit threw in this series have been pitching well of late. This wasn't a big surprise to anyone who is paying attention to whats going on with teams other than just their own.

CLEVELAND -- The Indians got the news on catcher Victor Martinez and second baseman Josh Barfield on Thursday, and it was bad news on both fronts.

Martinez (right elbow inflammation) and Barfield (left middle finger sprain) are both headed to the 15-day disabled list, and the Indians have purchased the contracts of catcher Yamid Haad and infielder Jorge Velandia from Triple-A Buffalo. The club had not yet announced corresponding roster moves to get Haad and Velandia on the 40-man.

I had warned Sox fans about the match-ups with Verlander as well as Rogers well before each game. I never did predict a sweep, but thought it was likely the Tigers would take 2 of 3. If you go back and look at the earlier posts it's easy to verify.

I am posting here, in response to the Sox fans that insist on posting on the Cubs section. It's just so much easier to rail on the Sox, while the idiots that TRY to take runs at the Cubs are shooting spitballs at an aircraft carrier.

Westmont-the Sox were indeed playing well-against the Royals and Twins. Both teams with losing records and the Royals, truely pathetic. But the Tigers, while also a losing team at this point, are a team on the rise, who I expect to be the Sox toughest competition in the division before the year is up.
