There were about 5 holes on the back 9 that felt really good and hit the ball straight but the last 3... either had too much beer at that point or was tired or both bu5 i5 was bad. Least it S a fun foursome but we were terrible.

Got to Shepherd's Crook and re-watched the video from my lesson in the parking lot. Something just clicked cause the lightbulb went off and I started figuring the swing out. 41-45-86 for the day. Hit the irons great. Driver was good not great.

How was the course? Congrats on the round. That's good shooting out there

Playing Steeple Chase this morning. It is sure to be a shit show, but I do get to try out my mallet putter on a surface other that wood flooring. Hoping to be below 110, but likely in the teens.

How did it go? That was my home course in college. Used to play it almost every day.

Hit the range Friday and realized I had eliminated my forward press out of my full swing. I put it back in and that seemed to be the trigger to getting back some semblance of a game. I played the short course in our rotation yesterday. 6100 yards. Lots of irons and 3 woods off the tee and really tricky greens. Shot a 73 on the par 70 layout. 3 birdies helped including a hole out from about 50 yards. Shot -1 on the tougher back nine. Back at it today. Looks like it will be dry enough to get it in. Almost to 20 rounds this season.

41/41/82 at Steeple Chase. Finished in 2:45 Wedge game is finally coming around. The old-school 53° wedge is actually pretty badass for 30+ year old technology, the sole gives me low and mid bounce options depending on where I play it in my stance. Awesome for full swings. Tiger used to bag the 53 Diadic wedge once upon a time. 8) This one has a heavier, more tip-stiff shaft than my irons, which now feel a tad light.

Clearly, I need new irons.

Tbone and Furious getting their games in shape for the Jorr outing! Doug, how did your round go?

47 at Fountain Hills yesterday. Had a Groupon code so it only cost me $12 for both my Dad and I. Hit the ball decently overall. Pulled a couple of drives, but didn't really get into trouble with that. Fairly crisp with most irons, I just was off on the direction. I'm pushing them to the right and I really can't figure out why. Took a 6 on both of the par 3's with lost balls, really killed the score. Zero three-putts though so I was happy with that. We actually played #8 and #9 again after the round and I went bogey bogey. $6 for 11 holes with cart simply cannot be beat.

Twilite round at Silver Lake on Saturday as that is part of my Father's Day gift. Looking forward to that!

Amazon has a great deal on 2015 Sun Mountain collegiate bags for $80 with free shipping. Really well-made bags. Some schools include Iowa State, AZ State, NC State, Oregon, Oklahoma, Texas, Texas AM, Texas Tech, Marquette, Montana, Montana State, South Carolina, Missouri, Boise State, Ole Miss, Mississippi and, of course, Arkansas. 54 on the front nine. Started out pretty bad on 1 and 2. But then starting putting really well, just missing by a few inches here or there. knocked in a 40 footer.
Got tired on the back 9 and finished with a 110

Demoed the Mizuno 919 Hot Metal, Srixon 585 and Cleveland CBX irons outdoors at Chicago Bill's.

I wanted to like the Clevelands, but they feel dead at impact and the shaft was pretty soft, even in stiff. It was a lighter version of the DG. The Mizuno and Srixon both had the Nippon Modus 3 105R. The Mizuno is a rocket launcher - high bombs with a nice baby draw. The Srixons is forged and less game improvement than the Mizuno and was the real surprise. Hit it really well, but the Mizuno was still more consistent.

104 today at Deer Creek, pretty awful. 2-3 club wind at times. Greens were like lightning, four 3-putts in my five holes. I think I'm taking the club too far back on my backswing, and it's causing my timing to get all jacked up. Going to concentrate on a shorter backswing tomorrow if the storms allow me to play.

Had the pleasure of playing Midlothian Country Club on Sunday. It was a horror show. A painful display that did not reflect the amount of driving range time I had $pent the last three months. Final tally was a robust 127. With at least 6 lost balls.

Just couldn't hit two good shots in a row. Played with the the father in law and his son, who hadn't picked up clubs since Fathers Day last year.
If my game was a horror show, his was a snuff film.

As for the positives, only lost balls because the caddy didn't bring Scuba gear. Did have four bogeys and also posted four 9's. Three of the 9's were on Par 5's and the fourth was the 306 yard 14th hole with three balls in the drink. Ouch babe, indeed.

Only hit a couple of slices as most of the bad hits were dead left. Just couldn't get the ball back to the fairway or to the green in a consistent manner. Did boom a few of the drives over 250 right down the middle. Chipping was great since I was taking so many swings at it!

I have come to the realization that I really need to take some lessons before hitting the course again. The JORR Invitational is 6 short weeks away!

Playing rain or shine Saturday. Can’t play Sunday now as I drop my wife and her boss at OHare for a flight early in the morning. Planning on going to Pine Meadow to hit a giant bucket with a buddy after the drop off and try to iron out a few kinks. I may adjust the driver tonight as I still don’t like how I’m hitting it. If raining lightly enough to still play on Sunday afternoon I may rent a cart and get out. Seems like I always get burned when I do that though and get stuck playing behind a slow group. .

Shot an 80 Saturday. I flat out topped 3 drives and hit some really poor shots. 27 putts saved me. Hit a jumbo bucket on Sunday and had a good session. Weather looked shitty and rainy down to O’Hare but once I stepped on the range the skies opened and it was gorgeous. I wanted to play but had to get home

Played Sportsman on Saturday. Lesson definitely helped as I continued to make great strides with my irons and hybrids. Unfortunately my driver left me for the first time all season. Missing left and right and even had one where I hit the ground a foot before the ball. Shot a 47 on the front and the back started off the same before I called it a day after 12 holes.

That is sweet, but Piglet just bought me a new bag for my birthday.

Played very inconsistent lately and sporadically so hopefully things will turn with four straight days scheduled Thursday thru Sunday. Three 3 putts last Sunday cost me quite a bit of money. First really bad day with my2nd putter. My starter has been calling out from his jail cell. Weather looks a little sketchy at times but I hope some of you guys get out some as well.

I am absolutely bombing the ball. All figured out to the point that after 27 holes this past weekend I am mostly going driver to 9 or PW and nothing in between. Bad thing about that is I have a truly disgusting chip/pitch/putt game.

Picked up a set of Mizuno MX-300 irons on eBay. My first experience with forged irons. These feel much beefier than my current cast/GI set. Want to see how I play with more of a players cavity back iron before I pull the trigger on a new set.

I've only played one 18 hole round all summer, but that's going to increase quite a bit this week. Heading up to Green Lake tomorrow for the last summer on the lake. Place is going on the market at the end of the season :(

Re-joined Lawsonia for the final summer. Heading up in the AM to get a round in on my birthday and then I have tee times set up on the course every day from Wed-Sun.

Planning on going up with my wife later this year. Would they let her ride and drive cart? I was going to email them about that. One of the few places in Wisconsin I want to play but haven’t yet.

Back to the 'bay with these. Only took a small bucket at Mt. Prospect to figure out they weren't for me. Good grief, I shanked more balls today than I have in 10 years. Now I know how shakes feels.

Mizuno 919 Hot Metals w/ Modus 105 shafts it is.

Weather and finances have combined to keep my clubs in the garage so far this year. That changes next week.

All of a sudden I can't hit a solid short iron to save my life. I'd rather have 180 yards in than 130.
