I’d suggest that he might be referring to the calls for his ousting, not the opinion that his show sucks. He probably assumes that there are more Archie Bunker types that agree with his ignorance than there are people who think he’s a bigot and should be off the air. Hard to say, might be 50-50.

Mike North was a breath of fresh air when he first started out on the Score, when he was teamed with someone who had common sense and intelligence. Him and Jiggetts were a natural George and Lenny from Of Mice and Men. North has survived all of the staff changes and now he is trying to be a poor man's Rush Limbaugh in order to justlfy his salary. His show sucks and I can actually feel myself get dumber and dumber the longer I listen to it.....needless to say I rarely listen anymore........ he masquerades on the air as the common man by showing off his bigotry and lack of intelligence

My response to Mike would be that there are more then 10 or 11 people here that hate him. Its probrally in the hundreds. There would be more Pappy, but not everyone knows about this site. He often refers to all of the negative emails he gets so you can add a few more. Plus there is a large crowd that doesn't listen anymore who don't feel the need to email him or post here.

There is a huge segment of Chicago that are Archie Bunker types so he will always have the loyal following of them but thats nothing to be proud of.

It always amazes me when North and other talk show hosts get offended at negative posts. Mike has made a career of calling people out, criticizing, and hating on people. Yet when its turned around they have the thinnest skin. They're all hypocrites.

When did he talk about message boards? Today? In what context? Sorry, I wasn't listening at that point, although I did have him on in the background for a few minutes, long enough to hear him say something to Eddie Einhorn about "J_e_wish businessmen." Did I hear that right? Maybe we'll be lucky and they'll give him the Fritzy treatment.

I like how North just dismises critisism. Like people on this board criticize him just for the hell of it. If he'd read, people here often calls him out for his racism, his mistakes (i.e. not knowing what Impeachment means) We have to do it here because no one on the show has the guts to correct him.

It's easy to characterize message boards as being filled with a small group of venom-spewing geeks who gain courage through anonymity. That's often true. However, anyone who actually reads the comments put forth here would realize that many (if not most) of us are their target audience - hardcore sports fans who listen on a regular basis and care about the "on air" product. Sure, some will find fault with certain programs no matter what is said. These can easily be dismissed...but when a common thought is expressed across the board, it would behoove those with an interest in improving their programming to at least listen.

I've said this before but it is worth repeating. When sports radio came out its critics said that the host and those who called were the lowest common denomenator. North, Boers, Mac took great pride in proving those critics wrong. Chat rooms are basically the same as talk shows. The callers who call in are basically unknown.

The hosts have no problem putting people on who criticize Dusty, Frank, Sammy. Yet when it is done here, and the heat is put on them, then all of a sudden we are low lifes. There is absolutely no difference.

So mike said he doesn't care about the 10 people who post here. He said he only cares about the masses.

Well everyone who posts here represents the people who listen to Mike and Mike. Hey Mike thats a hell of a lot of people. LOL.

It's really not that easy to categorize people that way any more. People surfing the internet is the equivalent, in many socioeconomic categories, of people who watch TV. I know old people (even older than Coast and cooler) who are in chat rooms regularly. If old people are embracing the technology, it is a common tool.

By the way, I promise you Mike North does not know how to use a computer.

Rock- Hey Buch check out some of these emails. This one says I am a hard working Chinese man who doesn't like to be refered to as a "Chinaman"

Buch- What an idiot whats the big deal. Chinese, Chinaman same thing.

Rock- Here is one that says that Mike and Fred should stop ripping Ozzie for not playing Carl Everet. He is hurt the emailer says. Its been in the papers that he can't play.

Buch- Should we tell pappy during the next commercial break.

Rock- Nah. Who cares. This being accurate thing is way overrated. Plus the last time I tried to correct Pappy he yelled at me. People will forget about this tomorrow anyway.

Buch- Here is one from a black guy that is really offended when Pappy makes his subtle racist jokes.

Rock- Oh my God Buch don't they know that Pappy always laughs when he does that. So obviously he is joking and it is ok to do that then. Plus Pappy said that he has a black house keeper so he can not be a racist.

Buch- Here is one that explains impeachment. I'll just explain that to Pappy and have him lie tomorrow and say that he knew Clinton was impeached. If only those people on Redacted would realize that we do read the emails. They all have simple explanations.

Of course he cares, that's why he said it, business is slow, no listeners/post here kills them 100 times more than the negativity, so he had to stir some up. Don't listen, don't post, bye bye North

One interesting bit of irony is how Mikey can dismiss the internet (& it's criticism) out of hand while B&B, almost daily, tout the "83,000+" listeners who have signed up for the streaming broadcast.

I liked Mike at first but now I can't stand anything he does. His voice, his laugh, his guys- all of it makes me want to throw up. I guess what did it for me was that stupid CD. I don't listen at all, the only info I get is from this board. Whether Mike believes it or not, this is a good represetation of sports radio fans. Yes Mike you do suck.

Its funny but not one North defender. BAck when I discovered this site a few months back, there would be a couple defenders speaking up. I think they grew tired of it or jump sides.

I'm reminded of the guy who refused to buy the Reader story for $2.95 where Mikie talked about "The Hooker/Tranny Incident" - the guy kept saying "it never happened it's all internet lies" and then he refused to read the truth.
