So if KD decides not to go to Brooklyn, do you sign Russell instead of Kyrie?

If your best player is under 6'5 then you have no shot at winning. Whoever signs Kyrie the bitch or DeAngelo as the team alpha is doomed.

Saying DeAngelo Russell can't lead you to a championship. Now there is insight for you. What next? Thibs is a lousy GM

There are no compression issues. Master of the obvious posts are worthless.

Kyrie Irving as the best player got his team to the 2nd round of the playoffs. That's hardly "doom". You may not like the guy (heard a million times that you don't) but don't be stupid.

Steph Curry and Isaiah Thomas were both under 6'5. Both were the best players on championship teams.

Yeah, I was amused by how absolute vegan was being in that post considering we just saw that happen 4 years ago.

Terry Rozier. "I'm one of the Top Point Guards in the league" This was a major part of Boston's problem this past season.

The Rockets trying to get Butler is hilarious to me. Offloading all of your depth to try to add a redass like Jimmy to the already volatile Paul/Harden combo and the lame duck head coach is the best illustration yet of Morey's fancy play syndrome and indifference to things like player relationships and fit.

Yeah besides CP, Jimmy is up there in the assholes you don't want to play with.

Sixers should extend Butler and then flip him to Morey's Rockets for Tucker/Gordon/Capela and a couple-three 1st round picks.

I actually understand what he is trying to do and if he can pull it off it wouldn't be a bad move.

Durant is their best player. Curry doesn't show up in the finals. GS only won with curry as the best player against a decimated Cleveland team in 2015. They promptly lost to a healthy Cleveland team the very next year.

That's a mighty long sample size you got there.

Here is the original quote. Obviously it's a rather wrong assumption.

Idk how old the NBA is. Let's say it's 60 years old. 2/60 means the odds are not in your favor.

You originally stated that they have "no shot". For what's it's worth Jordan was probably under 6'5 also. I think he his actual height was 6'4 and some change.

2/60 to me is basically the same as no shot.

And they only got over the hump after acquiring 6'11 Rasheed Wallace.

Sort of the same way you thought Toronto had no shot against Golden State?

Dwayne Wade was the best player on a team that won the Championship.

Now we're up to at least 4.

Jordan was under 6'5 too.

Don't get stuck on the number. The broader point is PGs as your best player, unless your PG is as tall as magic or something. Short players don't lead teams to rings on average.

That goes without saying. I have always argued that the NBA was and still is a big man's league.

You're arguing that its impossible to win with Small players and you are wrong. Its unlikely. It's not impossible.

That Isiah was able to do what he did in an area where you had a number of Hall of Fame centers still playing at elite levels tells you just how great of a player that he happened to be.
