Had definite rotation and lowering of the clouds in Orland. My view was kind of obstructed with all the buildings and trees, but if it wasn't a wall cloud it was damn close.

Got AJ and the pets and handed to the basement.

WGN has been going on since the baseball game ended. Tom Skilling looks like Eddie Schwartz, and he and Demetrius Ivory are taking turns talking with their own screens, and they have two more meterologists in the back running the computers.

Palatine got some rain. The tornado warning was way overblown.

Better safe than sorry.

I had a comment from my stepson as I was watching the ABC 7 weather that this was all to raise a bunch of hoopla over nothing. I had to tell him it was less than 2 minutes ago a tornado touched down west of Dyer. He then said, well, that part is good, but the rest is a bunch of hoopla.

And while we were out of the "danger zone" at my particular location in far southwest TP, I swear to God, my entire family that was home, sans me, was sitting in the garage watching the storm go by. It was CFMB surrealism for me.

Hay is shoulder height with no cut/dry window in the next week, not a corn seed in the ground here, and the vineyards look like rice patties. Good thing I have all these other projects to work on!

All day the WGN radio weather said there was a chance of thunderstorms this evening and all day my weather app said there was like a 5% chance of rain tonight. Suffice to say my night at the pool didn’t work out.

Was out in will county last weekend and 40-50 % of the fields I saw had nothing planted in them.

Saw pictures of Steger, Lynnwood and Chicago heights on news this morning. Holy shit that's a lot of flooding, 4" rain in 12 hours. Had to cause millions in damages to vehicles and homes, it looked like 3' of standing water and they said it receded some already.

There are farmers here that are at 10-20% planted. There is a field near here that they use a pump to drain out. Pump got turned off as it’s nit getting planted and it is just filling with water from neighbors fields. Wind was gusting the other day and the field had white caps in it.

Prepare yourself for food going up in price in a disproportionate amount to price of commodities.

Out in the far-west boonies, plenty of wind - plenty ... brief power outage ... to this point though, that's about it ... wind has backed off considerably.

Some nasty winds and heavy rains followed by some serious lightning hits out here in the far northwest 'burbs. My poor dog is lying on my feet.

Also, I like the 5-Morality Clause here in the 5th at Belmont :D

Estimated damages to the town are estimated in the tens of dollars.
