He is essentially interchangeable with Jose Abreu. Might as well let him and Collins compete for 1B/DH next season.

JORR can use the entire spectrum of stats when he needs to.

As archaic as pitcher W-L and as advanced as WPA.

Or you can be mature enough to realize that the so called "archiac" stats can still be used to tell you something, especially when using them in conjunction with some of the more modern day stats.

And they don't tell you or Theo Epstein why Quintana sucks so now he's on your team killing your hopes of dynasty and you gave up two premium prospects for him to boot.

Start a thread about Cease, IMU. Then he will probably win the 2020 AL Cy Young award.

These Sox fans are unexplainable. Eloy Jimenez is some amazing pick up, while having an identical season to Kyle Schwarber, who is vastly overrated by the Cubs organization.

and if you compare their rookie seasons, Eloy trails by a decent sized margin

Schwarber was drafted #4 overall after being compared to "Babe fucking Ruth" by the Cubs own front office. Kyle Schwarber has one of the worst batting averages in MLB HISTORY with RISP. Kyle Schwarber was sent down to AAA in his second full season because his "great" manager kept batting him leadoff and he couldn't hit his way out of a wet paper bag for 2+ months. Schwarber is now playing his 4th MLB season, and still isnt an everyday player because his hitting is inconsistent and his defense is a liability. I'm not saying he is some scrub who should not be in the Cubs roster, but calling him overrated is a 100% accurate description of his career so far.

Eloy Jimenez has played 55 MLB games who has started to figure things out, with a .958 OPS over his last 30 games. Eloy will be FAR SUPERIOR to Schwarber in the long run.

Oh, and Schwarber also could have been traded for a likely HOF starter, but instead Theo had to give up a premium price for a .500 pitcher. I think both the Astros and White Sox are happy things worked out the way they did.

So Schwarber was always the lucky rookie that pitchers were going to be able to get a book and and figure out...But Eloy is just getting his feet wet and is a lock to destroy major league pitching? And Schwarber was #4 overall but Jimenez was the most highly sought international prospect the year he was signed.

It is entirely possible Jimenez could be Cespedes, Puig, etc. His best was seen from the get go.

Talk about falling in love with prospects.

That does not negate one thing that I said about Schwarber.

Eloy needs about 50 more plate appearances to equal the amount Schwarber had his rookie year. Eloy already has more doubles, and he's closing in on more homers and more RBI. He will almost certainly hit for a higher average and probably have a higher OPS. As I said, FAR SUPERIOR.

The fact is that 30 MLB GMs out of 30 MLB GMs would tske Eloy over Schwarber. Hyphothetical GM IMU would not.

I'm not going to rip Schwarber for years and then suddenly pretend I would want Eloy's production on my team. They are the same player.

Could Eloy be "a star?" Certainly. But Soler could have been one too. And he didn't turn out to be one. Schwarber as well. Addison as well.

And this isn't isolated to Cubs prospects. If JORR ever nailed one thing it is that highly-touted, "can't miss" prospects do miss. And you're always surprised when it is "your guy" that fails. I always thought highly of Eloy Jimenez. I still hope he does well. But I never went all the way to guaranteeing he would be a stud for years to come. The Cubs (and teams like the Astros) succeeded in their rebuilds because they stocked assets. But even the Astros has Jonathan Singleton and Daz Cameron.

This addressed nothing about Schwarber vs Eloy, which is what you started.

So, still waiting on intelligent replies to that mess you made.

All due respect... you're simply not a smart man. I'm just done with you. I enjoy talking baseball but this isn't worth it.
