The bad money that is handed out is beyond ridiculous. The teaming up with other stars continues to get old and tired. Giving KD and Klay major money after injuries seems dumb, hope it backfires on both teams.

There's now no one left besides Kawhi for the Lakers to use their max space on. I'm really hoping he stays in Toronto or goes to the Clippers as those outcomes would make next season 1000% more interesting but I'm fearful that he's going to end up there.

Agree. Kawhi, AD, and Lebron seems ridiculous. All 3 aren't really likable guys.

Yep. I don't watch or follow NBA as much as I used to, but I almost choked on my dinner watching the ESPN scroll earlier saying who signed where for how much money.........
Clown league.

Eh Kawhi's really not dislikable in the way other stars are. Only San Antonio fans seem to hate him and even in that case an equal number seem ambivalent about his success. One of my favorite parts of his playoff run was the way the most rabid stanbases used him as a cudgel against each other. Thus Kawhi simultaneously was clutcher than Kobe ever was in the playoffs, proved Curry was soft, demonstrated that Lebron's finals streak was empty, and showed how meaningless Durant's two finals MVPs were.

That being said he's as good as dead to me if he wears the purple and gold.

Nets aren't doing shit anyway.

Kyrie isnt a #1 guy he's proved and so isnt' Durant. Durant needs champions like Curry , Thompson, Green with him to win anything.

Even w/ Durant back in 2 years I don't think they have the backbone to deliver a championship.

Memphis carrying both Iguodala and Kyle Korver, both expiring contracts after this coming season. Memphis' 30 year old GM Zach Kleiman taking a page out of Billy Beane's book. Sign tradable veteran players on easy to move deals going into the season and then flip em for picks/younger players at the trade deadline to contenders looking to add a veteran for the playoffs.

Iggy and Korver will be bought out and on the Lakers at some point.

Russell for Iggy

Someone is overvaluing Iguodala.

This def makes GSW interesting this year as long as Russell doesn’t piss dirty.

Iggy is washed up, it was a mistake for GS to give him his last contract. They won in spite of his old ass.

Good move by Philly. Horford hated playing the 5 all those years.

Philly upgraded by swapping Horford/Richardson for Butler/Redick.

Woj just said on ESPN Philadelphia wasn't giving Butler a five year or even a four year max, which is pretty surprising to me after the playoffs and after seeing how much they're paying Harris.

I always thought that they wanted to keep Harris more than Butler anyway. He is 3-4 years younger and is a more versatile player than Jimmy Butler.

Butler to Miami isn't a done deal just yet. Miami needs someone to take Dragic off their hands first

Richardson can shoot it....he is not Redick...but he can shoot the 3 pretty well.

You can find a standstill jump shooter on the waiver wire at some point. They aren't that difficult to find. There will always be a Wayne Ellington, Kyle Korver type lurking at some point.

They now have 4-5 elite defenders in their starting lineup. Redick's defense in the playoffs was problematic. I'd happily trade Redick's shooting for Richardson's all around game.

They're going to get out and run. If you're going to run, you need a couple of deadeyes. Like you say, the defense is going to be nothing short of great, so re-upping Reddick should have been a no brainer.

Not at that salary. Harris can shoot also. I think he was mid- upper 30's from last season.

He is much better offensively than he showed last season. He was a difficult fit with Butler but all that changes now.

Whereas they had only Redick that could shoot now they have a shooter by committee as even Horford can shoot.

I think their biggest issue will be at backup PG. They will need to shore that up.

The reports from Stein and others about the Warriors trading Russell at some point next year makes this transaction all the more sensible.

FF what do you think about the Whiteside deal to Portland?

I have never really cared for Whiteside I guess...but don't really see why Portland did that deal.

I think his contract is expiring so it’s not terrible I guess but I don’t think it makes them better.
