The _____ is/was better than Gronk takes I've seen are bizarre to me after he retired. There's nobody in the history of the NFL who's been close to as good as him at the TE position.

I rented Gronk a car the other week at Sky Harbor. Very chill dude. Cute assistant with him too.

Bizarre is saying any TE is twice the player Gonzalez was.

Just looking up some profiles and here are some interesting tidbits:

-Winslow also retired at 30. For some reason I thought he was a guy who played 20 years in the NFL.
-Ditka only played six years with the Bears. He played another six with the Eagles and Cowboys. He has really played up that Bear affiliation for a six year career.
-Ditka's rookie year he had 1,076 on 19.2 YPC and 12 TD! I imagine those have to be Ruthian compared to the average TE of that year.

Blows Winslow away, which I found strange. I know Winslow is not in the current era but I thought he was a good comp because Air Coryell was a state of the art passing offense for its time. The offense was not designed with the TE to be as primary as it is currently but I still stand think the comp works.

I would have liked to see Winslow's targets but I don't think they kept the stat. Gronk had 794 in 115 games. At 7 targets per game they were definitely feeding him the ball.
