Seriously tho, where did Rapinoe say that?

I have an issue with. “ pay inequality “. You can tell how serious I am about changing it by refusing an invitation to visit with the most powerful leader in the world.

I thought Megan Rapinoe was the most powerful leader in the world?

No, that's Beyonce

Beyonce can crush mere mortals with her thighs. She could have been a Bond villian.

How is that legal?

You can discriminate if the cause is right. Also see Brick's rules for cake baking.

You think Kaep was wronged?

She's right: increasing revenues is the way to equal pay. It's a question of how you go about doing it. Problem is, no one really wants to watch women's soccer in and of itself; the USWNT beating everyone up in the name of The Things About America We Like is one thing, the Chicago Red Stars against [googles their league] the North Carolina Courage is another. Nobody wants to go to Bridgeview. You have to drive and it's ugly and they don't even have Bedford Park's ample water supply.

So how do you get people out to the games and make them pay a lot for the privilege? What you could do is make every game not so much a sporting event but a service in the Church of the #Resistance, kind of like going to Hamilton but with sports: a prestige ticket. I know soccer fans are pretty allergic to the sorts of in-game distractions of NBA games and so forth that grind the proceedings to a screeching halt, but this can't be about selling soccer, the soccer's not good enough, so I think you would need to do a lot of sideshow bullshit that isn't even so much about soccer so much as stroking your customers, telling them what good boys and girls they are, how bad everyone else is, and generally making a political statement out of going to games at the exorbitant prices necessary to bring women up to par. Fortunately, bougie liberals (and hillbilly liberals with bougie aspirations or whatever you would call Quad City Pat) are kind of stupid, and separating them from their money is like taking candy from a baby with even a halfway decent ad agency involved. You could do lib-friendly post-match concerts, burn Vladimir Putin, Donald Trump, and Bernie Sanders in effigy, all sorts of stuff that makes people feel good about their part in fighting the culture war.

The only problem is that the Democrats are probably going to get the White House back in 2020, and once it feels like the problem has been solved (it will not have been solved), there won't really be the need for this sort of conspicuous-consumption mass catharsis anymore, which is what most of the leading Democrats are running on in the first place. If no one is thinking about politics the way they had to, will they still think about women's soccer the same way? idk probably not. Maybe women's soccer needs the gilded cage of a country under conservative/white-nat'list government and liberal cultural hegemony.

Yeah as really think that they need to either put up or shut up. As really they showed pretty bad behavior there! The women defended their behavior. But that is really not an excuse.

A Patreon account may be more effective then getting people to actually watch soccer.

We've only had 1 gay President Hawk. The rest were Christians. I'll give you 69 guesses to identify the gay one. Here's a hint. He grew up in Dixon.

Our wonderful gals’ lawsuit may have hit a snag ( if true )

US Soccer Federation President Carlos Cordeiro released a statement on Monday saying the following in part:

From 2009 through 2019 — a timeframe that includes two Women’s World Cup championships — the Women’s National Team has earned gross revenue of $101.3 million over 238 games, for an average of $425,446 per game, and the Men’s National Team has earned gross revenue of $185.7 million over 191 games, for an average of $972,147 per game. More specifically, WNT games have generated a net profit (ticket revenues minus event expenses) in only two years (2016 and 2017). Across the entire 11-year period, WNT games generated a net loss of $27.5 million.

U.S. Women’s National Team spokesperson Molly Levinson responded in part by call the numbers “false” and the statement from Cordeiro a “ruse.” She also said the women’s team wants to “be paid equally for equal performance.”

I missed the Christian girl getting kicked off before. If she wore a headscarf she would be a hero.

i imagine the conversation was similar to the conversation i had with my children as to why we can't just buy everything we want. you know the one where you get a months worth of your pay in cash and lay it all out for all the bills and crap. USsoccer being the parents and womens soccer being the children.

It seems the USWNT believed that public opinion would somehow have forced this in their favor but it seems pretty clear to everyone but the most biased that the two teams operate under very different sets of circumstances and it would be pretty illogical to pay them the exact same simply because one team is better compared to their peers than the other.

Quote:
A spokesman for U.S. Soccer, Neil Buethe, responded to Yahoo Sports by pushing back and saying it was the players’ side that was unwilling to work toward a resolution.

“We have said numerous times that our goal is to find a resolution, and during mediation we had hoped we would be able to address the issues in a respectful manner and reach an agreement,” his statement said. “Unfortunately, instead of allowing mediation to proceed in a considerate manner, plaintiffs’ counsel took an aggressive and ultimately unproductive approach that follows months of presenting misleading information to the public in an effort to perpetuate confusion.”
Shocking.
