Nice pick up by Boston, them n Cleveland are dangerous as hell if they get in. I just don't see any NL team winning it this year. The Dodgers are perpetual chokers and the AL is 6 deep with tough teams that could beat the dogshit out of any NL team.

I don't get it either, you should be able to call up a AAA arm that will give ya what H.B. will give the A's.

1. What the A’s are getting
A bargain. The Royals were paying Bailey the Major League minimum salary ($550,000) -- the Dodgers are paying what’s left of his $23 million contract in 2019, and the A’s will only absorb about $250,000 of that MLB minimum, sources told MLB.com. And Bailey has been productive, going 7-6 with a 4.80 ERA in 18 starts. He’s been fabulous of late, going 3-0 in his last six starts with a 2.83 ERA.

Quote:
The Rays are poised to trade for Blue Jays infielder/outfielder Eric Sogard, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports. Sherman adds that the deal is pending a physical. It's not yet certain what Toronto will be getting in return for Sogard.
Sogard, 33, this season has hit .300/.363/.477 (125 OPS+) with 10 home runs and six stolen bases in 73 games for the Blue Jays. Over that span, he's also seen time at second base, third, short, and the outfield corners. For his career, he owns an OPS+ of 82 across parts of nine big-league seasons.
With the Rays, Sogard figures to provide roster depth at multiple positions. The question is whether he can continue producing at career-best levels. What doesn't bode well is that Sogard right now, despite that productive slash line, ranks near the bottom of the league in average exit velocity and hard-hit percentage.

The New York Mets have reportedly reached an agreement with the Toronto Blue Jays on a trade to acquire right-hander Marcus Stroman, pending the exchange of medical information, according to MLB.com's Jon Morosi.

The same Jordan Lyles that has been 1-9 the last few months and who the Cubs ran out of the game a few weeks ago with something like a 7 run 1st inning. I think the Brewers also hit the shit out of him. Stearns is such a cheap fuck when it comes to pitching. He will not spend a dime on it but would rather just keep going back to the dumpster until something doesn't stink for a few outings.

Lyles will probably roll off 7 straight wins and have a sub 2 ERA

You gotta think Milwaukee is fucked with all these starters going down. I bet they're 6 back by the end of August.

Mets took away a consolation prize for teams interested in trading for a starter. GMs balking at their ask for Wheeler or Syndergaard now have fewer options besides dealing with the Mets. Or they just wanted trade for Stroman cuz they heard the Yankees were interested in him; or trying to keep up with the Giants and Knicks dumpster-fire front-offices.

I wonder what we could get for Quintana, even if we make the playoffs he aint on the roster.

I was gonna say the Sox could've sent Ivan Nova for the #3 prospect.

Jesus.

I'd never heard of him before last night's brawl, but damn if I don't want Amir Garrett from the Reds. Charged the entire Pirates dugout after another bean ball fight and actually threw a few punches that landed.
