I think it is a great idea. It would give fans and talking heads something to talk about. When is the coach going to rest the QB? Ab obvious benefit to players would be the rest they are given when injured. If you have a player who is questionable then he would obviously sit. I would think NFL fans would like this since they have more weeks of football. It would make fantasy football more interesting as well. Sign me up!

Somewhat interesting fantasy implications. May need an extra bench spot or 2 to account for unexpected scratches

First of all, it's a terrible idea. But for the sake of discussion, how would you handle it as the coach?

Do you sit a couple starters each week and almost never have your best roster on the field together. Do you run out the best every week and let the minor injuries that pop up decide the "off" weeks for you? If you have a very healthy season, do you get to week 14+ and you're running out the "B" squad to play a game?

You just explained why it's a GREAT idea.

If I cared a great deal about the sanctity of the NFL and its traditions I might care. I don't. There are some implications that might make a season more interesting, so it's not a horrible idea. Curious about following: how do they expand the roster, when must a team declare its 52 man roster, fewer pre-season games?

You must really enjoy meaningless Week 17 football that looks like it’s being played in mid August.
