I watched the first 2 and a half innings while at lunch. I went back to work right before it went off the rails.

Imagine how good this team would be if their pitching didn't suck.

That's just it. I know they have some holes and that they are missing some bats, but they're gonna have to spend money on pitching or this isn't gonna work.

Ricky was arguing balls and strikes, apparently.

Tilson sent down.

The vibe I got was Ricky was bitching about the pitch before Sanchez singled. And the ump literally bitched back at him as the hit was going up the middle.

Hopefully someone that can actually hit is replacing him.

This is really the best thing that can happen for them at this point. Now they can be sellers and get some more help along the way.

As long as they get MLB ready players in return, I'm fine with them moving guys. Don't just dump guys for salary relief, and don't get prospects.

Like tommy said, they spend some- not even crazy- money on pitching, this team can contend for the division in 2020.

And I still can't figure out why Ricky Renteria got tossed after the top of the 2nd.

Operating with an absolute bottom of the scrap heap starting rotation, and they are missing two key offensive players. They are a thin team that had little room for error. And they lost Kopech and Dunning before the year. Rodon during the season, and their veteran signing was a total bust.

How about Colome to the Dodgers for Gavin Lux? Look like we are playing for a top 5 pick now.

Yeah I agree. Gerrit Cole needs to be target #1 in the offseason. But the real question in all of this is Jerry going to give the money/contract to pitchers that will be needed.

I know a closer on a bad team is a luxury, but I would ask the world for Colome. He is still under contract thru next season. If you get that haul for him, great. If not you have a pretty damn good closer to build your 2020 pen around.

No.

Jerry doesn't pay pitchers.

Frank's right. Castillo will be called back up.

This stretch fresh off the All Star break has been miserable.

That's pretty much what everyone is worried about. Too bad, too, because we have some decent arms in the pen.

Reinsdorf won't pay for starting pitchers or proven managers.

Actually, Castillo was activated when Collins was sent back down...

Agreed. You get rid of Colome, you've created a brand new problem. One that is painful in terms of losses to learn and then expensive to solve.

BRING UP ROBERT

This six game skid has ended any small delusional hope that this team would contend for a Wild Card. Bring these young guys up and let them play the final 2 months of the season.

But my guess is, because that the Sox are stupid, Tilson is sent down probably because Wellington Castillo is back from the IL.

Will they make Robert sign some long team friendly deal like Eloy before they bring him up?

Make him? I'm sure JERRY? held a gun to Eloy's head to sign a $40 million deal before he even played in an MLB game...

That is a good synopsis. Its been fun to watch the young guys that were brought up and all that and the nice stories about them. Personally I can't wait until they bring up some of the others in their system.

But any talk about contending has got to wait until they decide to spend some serious money. And that depends on the worst bleeping owner in sports, Jerry Reinsdorf.

Mercedes should have been brought up. Castillo is GARBAGE. He wasn't even hitting in the minors.

somethin' else, this game.

You lose 7 in a row to bad teams, now u go into Tampa as a huge underdog and u deliver a big-ass blowout.

Combination of great speed, baserunning, and the shift.
