The Bears offense will be better than their defense this season.

Statistically better. It may not be significant but my belief is they will be better.

It would have to be injury induced. I can’t reasonably see how all else being equal that would be the case.

What statistics are you going to use to make this comparison?

The traditional stats that are used to rank an offense and defense.

How do you feel about the Bears secondary?

the o-line is being overlooked. very little depth. things could go wrong quickly.

Very versatile offensive line. They will be fine. (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky's legs will help them in the passing game. We'll see multiple Pro Bowl players from this line.

True. 5th worst YPC as a team last year IIRC.

Center is the only position where I see depth being a non-issue.

Bears win the division....but no....the offense will not be better than the defense.

I don't have The Athletic but they really ranked Eli over Mitch?

That's hilarious. I like to hate on Mitch but it's basically impossible to defend ranking Eli and Flacco over him.

I'd put Newton and Kirk Cousins in Tier 2, but this was done by voting.

Stafford is all empty calories. Also Newton belongs in tier 2.

I completely agree with FF and Kirkwood. That's an awful list.

Cousins is a career bum slayer.

Nas is back! Awesome! There will finally be some order now in these forums that was sorely missed by his absence.

Agreed. Tier 1 when he is playing against teams that have 8 or fewer wins.

Tier 5 when playing against teams that have 9+ wins.

The addition of Kubiak to the Vikings' coaching staff will benefit Cousins quite a bit, though.

Maybe. Cousins needs to prove it though. He's done basically nothing in every big game he's played in the NFL.

Well, at a minimum, I would expect Kubiak to run more play-action, something that will instantly help Cousins.

Cousin's only playoff start:

29-46, 329 Yards, 1 TD, 0 Int, 91.7 Rating and that was while having to deal with being sacked 6 times. Cousins did as well as he could do for those Redskins teams.

Since becoming a full time starter, Kirk Cousins has been a Top 10 QB by every metric imaginable.

Kubiak is a very accomplished offensive mind, but what quarterback has he helped improve recently? Cousins doesn't have many holes in his actual game, you can just count on him to malfunction against good teams. How do you help a quarterback who has really good tools and is as prepared as any player in the NFL to not malfunction in big games? Will Kubiak be calling the plays? I thought he was an adviser?
