I thought I understood right from wrong and petty from important until a high school senior in AP English asked me if we could "negotiate" the length of an essay. After I told her that if it wasn't at least five pages, she'd almost certainly lose points, her parents came in to negotiate.

I think this is a pretty standard feeling, though, when you go from generation to generation.

Lost in everyone making fun of Cuomo is that Kamala Harris declaring her pronouns as if she's ever done anything but live as the woman she is is preposterous pandering. Is pronoun declaration supposed to be something we all just do when we walk in a room, like introducing yourself as an alcoholic at an AA meeting?
