I'm with them on him getting tons of love for 2nd place, but this seems like a product of media trying to find the big human interest story out of everything that happens in sports.

It was fun to watch, great guy to root for but he lost. He's not a super hero for taking the #1 player in the world to a playoff he played really good golf that weekend. That's it, leave it at that.

To me, he's like the anti-Tiger.

Tiger is like an enormous truck, with NASCAR-like endorsement stickers all over him, running everything over that gets in his way. Rocco is a VW bug, with an Aldi's keychain, that prevented Tiger from passing several times, before Tiger squeaked past him.

The HUGE hype-machine vs the nobody.

While I do agree that Rocco's getting a little too much love for second place, he does make for a great story (mostly because his comments after the match seemed to be pretty much what any of us would have been saying, if we had to match up with Tiger).
