Remember Mitch leading them downfield for what should have been a game winning field goal in the playoffs.

Nothing hidden there. That pass he made to get them into range can only be made by about 10 NFL QB's

Has anyone addressed if Mitch went off the script in the second half? Part of me wonders if that's what happened in those last few drives. Basically he stopped overthinking things and finally just started doing things naturally as they came to him.

I know Burton didn't play, but I lay the responsibility for that loss on Nagy's play calling.

Also, I think it was Maddox, but the Eagles corner seemed to really be reading the passing lane when he threw right in the first half and then (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky's second half adjustment to juke him and target that side consistently seemed like a mature QB reading and exploiting a defense.

Its amazing how his play calling got lost in the Parkey miss. I'm not a football expert but I feel like these offenses and the RPO really get exposed in the playoffs for some reason.

Tall Midget posted a video of an analyst who broke down (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky's passes. Apparently he's great with pressure because it forces him not to think and he's a work in progress without it.

He didn't suck last year so why do you expect him to suck this season?

He doesn't look like Mayfield, Watson or Mahomes.

That doesn't mean that he will suck. I believe that he will be better than at least 1 of those guys this year.

Moon Mullin said on the most recent "Under Center" podcast that he thinks there's something fishy about Nagy's refusal to play Mitch in the preseason. He thinks that Nagy is trying to hide (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky's flaws as much as possible. Says that (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky threw a lot of interceptions in camp and that it's not possible to see the improvement Nagy claims Mitch has made. Sounds like he thinks Mitch is stagnating or possibly regressing.

He's not playing the defense or other offensive players either. Is he also hiding them?

That's what I was thinking as well. Is Nagy refusing to play all of the starters just to hide Mitch's deficiencies. What a strange theory. Moon sounded a little crazy.

A lot of people see a really difficult schedule and they think the Bears may not be good. They want to help create a narrative why that's the case. It doesn't take a lot of courage to say (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky is the reason.

Not to mention it would take about 3 series for all of these bad things to be discovered.

He is not playing in the preseason because the preseason is worthless, and it gets even more worthless as teams stop playing their best players too. Right now, playing in the preseason when the other teams aren't trying would only help you prepare for the Lions.

Mayfield is over-rated and Mahomes is a horrific injury waiting to happen. I watched the Chiefs/9ers first half over the week-end and Mahomes scared the living shit out of Reid and company with one of his scrambles and failure to slide. He was very lucky on a couple of plays or he gets carried out on a cart.

What does Moon Mullin know about what Nagy is thinking. The notion of trying to hide (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky's flaws is stupid. The entire league saw (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky play last year and yes, he had some flaws. So what? The notion that somehow Mitch just has acquired more flaws somehow is to be believed because some jerk-off on a podcast is speculating about it being possible is total crap.

Some teams are playing their starters for awhile and some teams aren't. Some teams feel that winning games in the pre-season are important to how they are going to do in the regular season. Most of those teams are bad teams with new coaches looking for some-kind of team energy in the coming season Other teams want to keep their starters from getting hurt. Nagy is one of those guys. HE has a veteran team now on both sides of the ball and is coming off a great season. Personally I'd cut the guy some slack as actually knowing what the hell he is doing as a coach.

They are but some are very more reckless in how they play and I think that it will really catch up with Mahomes. He reminds me of a skinny young colt running wild. (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky is wild also in a way but his running is more controlled and he has a bigger frame to take hits than Mahomes does. Watson is kind of in between. He reminds me Wilson in Seattle. (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky kind of like a slightly smaller quicker Rothlisberger, and Mahomes of RGIII.

Other than getting hit what benefit does (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky get in a game that he wouldn't get in practice? Teams don't gameplan for preseason games.

It sounds like Mitch has looked bad in camp, he could use the reps with a live pass rush. I'm not going to be concerned about it..unless he looks like shit against GB in two weeks. Nagy did a nice job of keeping these guys healthy last year, maybe he's right in not playing them in pre season.. Fangio took the opposite approach, he's got his guys grinding in Denver.

Belichick played all his starters including Brady last night. I like Nagy but I don't think he's smarter than BB.

The Rams didn't play any starters last season and it worked out well for them. I'm not saying Nagy is smarter than Belichick but you can have success without doing everything that Belichick does.

Maybe BB knows what he's doing

Yep. That loss is due absolutely to shitty play calling on the part of Nagy. The defense played very good and deserved to win. This is on Nagy.
