This should be a really memorable season. The Bears have a tough schedule and many are expecting them to take a step back but I think they may be better than they were last year.

I don't think most people appreciate how great the Bears were last season. They could have won every game. They didn't lose a game by more than a touchdown. Their losses came down to poor defensive games or final possessions by Fangio and Parkey missing game winning kicks. As great as Fangio was he routinely wet the bed at the end of games.

I think we're going to finally get an offense that most of us have only dreamed about. It's going to be explosive and high scoring. That's going to allow Pagano to attack just like he loves to do. The Bears will be the best team in the NFL. I have the Bears going 13-3 and running away with the division.

Believe it or not, the Bears best offense during the past ten years or whatnot was put together by Trestman. In 2013 they scored 445 points, good for second in the league behind Peyton Manning's Broncos.

(Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky won't come close to that. Offense remains the weak link on this team.

Was that with Mccown when he had 16 TD and one pick?

That and Mitch's "development" will be the defining factors. 9-0 start and a 13-3 record will Not happen.

The 2013 team was stacked with skill position talent (Forte, Jefrey, Marshall, and Bennett). The current team obviously has much more defensive talent, but some interesting young skill position players that should develop as the year progresses. Nagy is good at scheming up favorable matchups, especially likes small quick backs against LBs. Likely more two back sets this year due to the versatility of Montgomery. The real limiting factor is TE, if you watch KC run the offense they consistently throw to them, but we don't have anywhere near the talent KC has at that position. Mahomes is much quicker with his reads than Mitch and much of the success/failure in this offense is predicated on quickly finding the mismatch and getting the ball on time to the player that has the favorable matchup. Will be encouraged when Mitch quickly gets the team to the line and is able to make the right read. If he does not develop this skill he will not be able to be consistent in this offense.

The Bears have really good depth at most positions. QB would be the position that scares me the most.

Go through their schedule week by week and let me know what you think they will do. Most of their big games are at home.

Very fortunate road schedule. Even the game in L.A. against the Rams will be more like a home game with all the meathead Bears fans in attendance. Plus, while Goff might go off against lesser opponents where he actually has a bit of time in the pocket, he will get eaten alive by the Bears defense.

At Philadelphia is the scariest one because they have PFF’s top offensive line for 3 years running now.

Yep! The Raiders game is a neutral field and the Rams game is essentially the same. The revenge factor was the only reason I picked the Bears to win the Eagles game.

Can only assume that the offense will progress somewhat: o-line is healthy and they have more weapons and (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky should be a little more comfortable with the scheme. The defense will likely not have 36 takeaways again but they are still a young and healthy squad with full camps from Mack and Roquan so it's hard to imagine much of a dropoff there.

This defense is set up to make Roquan Smith a star.

Double digit sacks and some discussion for DPOY will be heard (a bit prematurely)

Dion Bush is ready to step in when needed. He's looking like a guy someone else will pay in the offseason.

Yeah, he looks really good. On the other hand, our backup corners have been pretty bad during the preseason.

 You guys are both fucking crazy. A 9-0 start is not going to happen. I would even bet against a 5-0 start. On the flip side, unless they are completely decimated by injuries, the Bears will be better than 7-9.

I think 10-6, 11-5 will be the case. Bears will go 5-1 in the division (lose @Lambeau Field), and will beat the Redskins, Raiders, Saints, Chargers, Giants, and either the Chiefs or Cowboys.

Been saying since his draft Roquan might actually be the best/most talented player on this defense once he develops. He was a great blitzer in college when he was used that way.. I had to defend that on draft night too because people thought he couldn’t get off blocks but there’s gifs I found of him truck sticking O-linemen on his way into the backfield. He’s a very dangerous player if he takes that next step. Can pretty much do everything well at his position -defend the pass, stop the run, rush the QB.. it’s going to be interesting to see how good he actually gets, but all the tools for greatness are there.

On topic.. 12-4 imo. I feel like the Queens will be feisty this year division wise tho. Really good defense and a good -not great- QB who had a weird year last season. I don’t see that happening to them again and I think we split with them.

The Bears play the Broncos with an extra three days of preparation against a defense Nagy saw all last year. There is a chance they will lose and Denver is a challenging road spot but there is no way in the world I'd predict a loss. That game is set up perfectly for a Bear W. They then play the skins with an extra day of prep as well. 3-0 is a likely start.

Then they play the Vikings at home, the Raiders in London and the Saints at home with two weeks of rest. The next week they play a west coast team (Chargers) at a noon start at home.

Bears will be favorites for the first 7 weeks of the season and really should win each of those games.

I am so confident I may not even watch until game 8 at the Eagles.

11-5 and that is being the most pessimistic I can possibly be. I think they beat the Rams, Lions and Vikings. Maybe they lose to the Cowboys. 12-4 reasonable guess. 14-2 most optimistic.

No it isn't. IF the offensive line escapes injuries, this offense will be better this season. How much better? I think (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky is the real deal and be a contender for MVP honors in the league. Special teams are the weak link on the team.
