A lot of players may start to retire. There is no point playing when the Bears are about to have the NFL on lock for at least a decade.

It's such a beautiful, breezy day so I'll just respond in the manner offered.

After the last two playoff tragedies, I tend to agree. But 2009 was golden. And Bears fans mania is hilarious. I'll enjoy what I can on the Sundays I care about less and less each year. Listening to Doug and OB was downright heaven. I suspect that this board will provide similarly the next two failed seasons.

Everyone likes to watch greatness even if it's just to root against it. I'll own my meatball label. A lot of my posts were just feeding the beast but I'll own. That being said I was spot on about this team in every way before the season started last year. All the way down to being concerned about the kicker. This team is better than that team. If every possible thing went wrong it's a 7-9 team. Every thing won't go wrong. You'll be a Bears fan within the next 10 years.

Anyone else think it was questionable decision making to let this news "break" in the middle of a pre-season game?

Hard to keep news like that from spreading. Unfortunate that his last time leaving the field his fans booed him.

Maybe we stop giving the Colts the best QB prospects in their generation.

They admitted it was in the works for over a week, so hold an official press conference or announce it via your own press release before it gets leaked at an inopportune time, say in the middle of a home preseason game with tens of thousands drunk/pissed fans that already paid $300 a seat to watch a "practice".

His organization purposely did that to him.

I really didn't that any staff was more hapless than the Bulls medical staff, but you're right.

The Redskins would like a word.

With him on the sidelines to get booed, no doubt. And by a crappy team owner no less.

And your 10 year prediction is off, unless that family mercifully sells their majority interest. As a kid, I didn't like Halas. But by 87, I had no use for the rest of them.

Maybe they thought it was a chance to get him one last ovation ?

C'mon Bob. Those seats were bought and paid for MANY weeks before Andrew Luck even thought about retiring.

I'm a little bit surprised at the surprise of the media. Some joker on radio last night called the boobirds losers. Do losers plunk down $4000 a year? I'm not a football guy but from what I understand, Indy was considered a contender.

It's a huge step down from Luck but he wasn't awful as a starter a couple of years ago.
