In the featherweight division.

And of course the Good Brothers.

Buddy was always the weak link of the Freebirds to me.

Depends on your perspective. If you are talking soley inring then Michael Hayes was the weak link. But he brought so much else to the team that it is hard to consider him a weak link. Buddy was way better in the ring than Hayes...but really both pale in comparison to Bam Bam Gordy

I didn't appreciate Buddy when i was a kid. Bam Bam and PS were the main 2 for me. But as I got older and rewatched some of the stuff you could see how good Buddy was. Adding Jimmy Garvin was a disgrace.

Yeah as far in ring goes Gordy was definitely the man of the team

It’s a fun topic because there’s so many categories of “great” tag team. I’ve always been partial to The Outsiders just because Hall and Nash were so dominant, especially on N64 WCW games. Really though, if your finishing move doesn’t require both wrestlers, you’re not a true tag team so sorry Outsiders and Megapowers. I can still hear the Midnight Express’ cheezy 80s synth theme, the old UWF had some great teams.

Mid to Late 80's The Mid South/UWF was my favorite federation. Then they merged with NWA and lost a little of their luster

Christ, how many terrible tag teams did they throw Marcus Bagwell in to? And then he becomes Buff Bagwell and gets a bigger push. Most overrated wrestler of my lifetime.

No love for Greg Gagne and Jumping Jim Brunzell?

Or how about the Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff?

You get the impression he was supposed to be their answer to Shawn Michaels and be a big heartthrob to big southern women. Two small problems:

1) Shawn Michaels was one of the best in-ring guys of all time and Buff Bagwell was, uh, well, not

2) Michaels could get on a mic and draw heat as well as anyone at the time. Buff Bagwell, on the other hand, wore a top hat.

Yeah...didn’t think about Volkoff and Sheik last night.

Fuck Greg Gagne.

East West Connection (Ventura/Adonis) vs The High Flyers (Gagne/Brunzell) used to be entertaining with Brunzell and Adonis taking bumps all interrupted by Gagne and Ventura filling the rest of the match with "rest holds". However, the Road Warriors were the first team that used entrance music to pop the crowd. Verne stumbled upon a ton of young talent, but never used most of the guys correctly which allowed Vince to swoop in and grab most of his home grown talent.

Let's be honest. Vince wanted The Road Warriors. Vince couldn't get them. So, Demolition. Then Vince got the Road Warriors. Hence, Repo Man.

The Barbarian was in a great tag team, but it was not when he was with Meng in WCW. Back in his WWF days, The Barbarian was tag teamed with the Warload, called The Powers of Pain.
