does this mean then that the big ten is better than the sec?

Clearly. The NBA finals have proven that, even though there are no players on either team from either conference.

Paul Pierce has raised his game in this series, and if the Celtics win the title, there's no doubt in my mind he should be the Finals MVP.

It's happening. I cant believe it. Phil is mailing in this series 10x worse then the 2004 Finals.

1993: Bulls vs Knicks. Knicks went up 2-0 on the Bulls.

Doc Rivers was on that Knicks team. I swear, I remember how cocky he was after they won the first 2 games. I remember him being interviewed.

Bulls went on to win the series. Remember the multiple blocks on Charles Smith, at the Garden, to win that series? I do. That moment was my favorite of the Bulls' title runs.

You guys see the half time show?

Bill Walton is the weirdest dude ever. Smoking pot has really fucked him up.

You could see his son squirming from his fathers weirdness in that interview.

Van Gundy and Jackson are right on.

Lakers defense is weak. They are soft as hell.

I agree on both counts. Grateful Red is cool with me, as long as he's not anywhere near a broadcast booth.

Big game tonight. It would be nice if someone besides Pierce kicked his game into 2nd gear considering it is the NBA Finals and all. I'd like to see Garnett actually show up for the first time since Game 1 too.

Game time. Hopefully for the first time all series we see both teams play great and give us a great game. Also hopefully the officiating is decent like it was in Game 5.

Yeah it is. Great 2nd quarter. LA is playing terribly right now. I guess someone woke up KG finally and told him that he's playing in the NBA Finals.

Ray Allen definitely did a great job during this series, but Pierce has to win MVP. Just an incredible Finals performance. He outplayed Kobe and was the leader on both ends of the floor this series.

Well Zack, if you can only play NBA2K on Pro level, I'd kill you. For me, it's either Hall Of Fame or nothing.

I'm sure there will be no more Michael Jordan comparisons for Kobe. The Lakers wet their pants in this series in every facet imaginable. I think this series has proved Boilermaker Rick's point about Kobe.

I beat the Hawks by 63 with the Bulls today. I scored 70 with a nobody named Chris Jeffries. I also dished out 19 assists with my create-a-point guard (me)...all on Hall of Fame.

And yes I am a HUGE NERD...but I'm EMO, which means I'm deep.

The Lakers have a lot of players who look like they're smelly.

when i was really into madden, i would only play on all-madden, and i got pretty good; on FIFA i usually do world class...but i just can't dedicate the time to the other sports...baseball, i'm a slacker. i play it like an arcade game, and i do the same with NBA.

but i also created myself as a point guard, playing for the grizzlies. every season i lead the NBA in points and assists.

it's my way of giving myself sports glory. and i'm not ashamed of it.

In all seriousness, the Lakers' performance is not only insulting to NBA fans but I think it's insulting to the integrity of the game.

There are a lot of people who dislike the NBA because of the large contracts and what they perceive as millionaires who mail it in and don't try hard. The Lakers have done NOTHING to refute that theory. I'm sure there are NBA-haters looking at this game saying, "See, I told you. That's why I don't watch." Game 6 is making me embarrassed to be a diehard fan of the sport.

This has nothing to do with the fact I wanted L.A. to win. I just wanted to see a great series and a great deciding game. Instead, what I saw was a team completely and utterly lay down when they needed it most. From the coaches, to the veterans, to the younger players, the Lakers have put on the most dreadfully insulting performance in a big series I've ever seen. They've blown huge leads, they've refused to guard people, they've bitched about officiating...quite simply, the Lakers have looked like a bunch of pussies.

Too bad the Spurs didn't make it to the Finals this year.

Wow, must be a PG thing. I always created virtual glory with NBA Live and creating myself as the best PG in the NBA. I'm proud to say I was the first baller since the Big O to average a triple-double in a season too.

Yeah, it's a good thing this kind of beating never happens in the NFL, especially the Superbowl.

Congrats to the Boston Celtics.

I thought it would go 7. Should have if the Lakers didn't have the biggest collapse in Finals history.

Thought Kobe would pull it out in game 7. Well, they needed him today and he couldn't do it.

I'm glad. Kobe is stuck on 3 rings. Still 3 behind Jordan. He's lost 2 consecutive Finals now.

Lakers are a lot further away than getting to the Finals would indicate. The West will get better next year too. Hornets and Jazz are the favorites out of the West next year in my mind.

It was all too predictable and not very thrilling...also, the fact that Boston arbitrarily put this team together takes a bit away from the glory. We all knew getting the big 3 was most likely going to get Boston a championship.

That is true Midget, but I'm not as big a football fan as I am a basketball fan so one-sided SuperBowls don't really get me as wound up.
