This is a good team with a lot of talent.


I also think it’s a good thing the offense is going to be thrown in the fire early going up against Denver. By time we hit mid season I think things will be back on track.


Anyways, some take away from last nights game..


1. Mitch most likely doesn’t have greatness in him, and least not on any consistent basis. That’s fine, he can still be decent/good consistently. Some of what we saw last night was rust, but let’s be honest here -a lot of it is just who Mitch is.. dropping his head and taking off a little early, not getting to 2nd and 3rd reads, locking on to guys right after the snap.. it is what it is. All is not lost tho.


2. Nagy overthinks things way too much. Needs to pull it in and just get back to basics.. ok Patterson got stuffed on a short call, so what? It was a missed assignment that isn’t going to happen on every short yardage situation, hand the damn ball off on 3rd and short.


3. Nagy has too many toys preventing some consistency on offense. Settle on a starting lineup and leave them out there. Stop rotating guys after they make plays, leave them out there and get a rythm going.


4. Defense looks great and Pagano looks like a solid play caller (something I wasn’t sure of prior to the season starting).


Bottom line is there’s no need to panic, way too early for that. We take the ‘L’ and we move on. Plenty of season left to go and last seasons opener was lost in a waaay worse fashion than this. So..


..relax. Everything is going to be ok.

(Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky looked worse than he did at any point last season. He looked absolutely clueless. Chase Daniel looked more competent in the preseason. This shouldn't be the case in Year 2 of this offense. He needs to dramatically improve IMMEDIATELY.

When you see a trend developing it's not panic. I have real doubts in Matt Nagy's ability to call plays, develop a quarterback, and lead a football team. So far his big innovation has been to not practice too hard in the pre-season.
