the other thread is mainly for announcing the concerts. Telling us who ur going to see, and where, and why.

It would be a fuckin mess if people mixed in their reviews there. So lets have this thread for actual fucking reviews. Like, the concert is in the PAST, not the future. And there is space for arguing about reviews, and mud-slinging and shit.

Post ur reviews here!

Bands I like have good concerts. Bands I dislike have bad concerts.

I took my wife to see Air Supply at the Gennessee Theater earlier in March. Yep, that's i right...I just admitted that.

it was really good. The backing band stripped down...guitar, bass, keys, drums. They're old, but the music was 100% live and pure.

I will redeem myself by seeing Iron Maiden later in the summer.

Wife and I attended Mumford and Sons at Fiserv in Milwaukee. I wasn't really sure what to expect, she is the bigger fan than I am but it was a fun date night and she hadn't been to the venue before. We skipped the opening act and sat down when she was wrapping up. Took them almost an hour to get the stage ready for the main band which was a little annoying. No complaints about the show, they did a really good job. It was a stage in the middle of the floor so they also had people standing on the floor as well. I am not one to stand for hours on end anymore so I bought tickets in the 2nd level, 1st row so if I wanted to sit I didn't have to be looking at someone's head. It worked out great. I got up for the 2nd to last song and we left right before the last song of the night beating the crowd out of the parking garage. I was most impressed by the lights and pyrotechnics during the show. They were really incredible and I was surprised they let them do so many of them inside. Fiserv is a nice place to see a show or a game but they really get you at the concessions. $13 for a 16oz craft beer gave me a little bit of heart burn. The beer was good and I took my time drinking it but that is insane pricing.

Mott the Hoople- great rock and roll show! I was one of the youngest people in attendance.

Fuck! I missed you. You should have met me at Rossi's for the pregame.

Also, I failed to mention, the Suburbs opened the show and they were great even though most of the decrepit Mott fans paid them no attention. I would venture to say I was one of the few who knew who they were.

The Suburbs were new and wavy but were always respected by punk rock kids for being such an important part of the Minneapolis scene. I can remember Chan Poling showing up at an Articles of Faith show at the Centro American Center and getting a shout out from Vic or one of the other bands from the stage. Chan is old and fat now but he can still rock. I was glad they played "Rattle My Bones".

The young Chan had sort of a FavreFan feel to him:

Caught the end of Goo Goo Dolls, sounded great. Wish I caught their whole set.

Train was good. But their singer is not a dynamic frontman.

Brought out Johnny for one song and he carried the song and got the crowd going.

Drops of Jupiter was awesome though.

Surprisingly, lawn was full. Handt seen it that full may times before. About 30,000 people there. Great warm summer night.

Iron Maiden was great. Big-time stage show, Bruce dressing up as a bunch of characters. 16,000 people.

Papa Roach was great. Surprisingly great crowd. I think people were feeling it being Friday night. Bad Wolves also great.

Also great. They are much better when they play their heavier older shit. Which they did. But also played 2 covers. Pretty dumb in a short-as-it-is set if u ask me.

I wanted to see the Live + Bush tour, but couldn't make it work.
Seen Live 3 times over the years. They're still an amazing band.
