Lombard is better Than naperville. I was about 15th in line then bumped by the old farts and was in and out in an hour. Naperville would still be on the 5th person at noon.

Joliet Mall >>>>>> Addison. I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes, even on the last day of the month. It's right off of 55 at US30, and mid-day or weekends there's no traffic on 55.

For vehicle stickers, I used to alternate between the currency exchange in Willowbrook across the street from Portillo's and the place next to the Joliet emissions testing facility, depending on whether it's an emissions year or not.

Now that I sold my place in Illinois, I have to endure the North Carolina DMV this Friday, for both my DL and my vehicle registration. That's going to be brutal, but the DL is good for 8 years, and you only need to show up in person every other license. So I won't have to endure another DL line for 16 years.

Addison and Naperville are the sticks as well. From Ogden and 355, it's only 10 minutes longer to go to Joliet than to Addison.

I didn't want to grow old here, and I got tired of the politics, the cold weather in the winter, and the commute into the Loop. I bought a slightly more expensive and smaller house in a much better and more convenient neighborhood. Think Romeoville to Elmhurst as a local example. But everything else is 20% cheaper so my net outlay is the same, for better weather and better part-time or contractor job options when I want to cut back some more. And healthcare (Duke) that is as good as Chicago, which was a must for me. My commute is 22 minutes instead of 75, although I won't be working too many more years.

If it was strictly saving a lot of money and avoiding snow, I would have moved to Greenville SC or Knoxville TN.
