I am going to give Mitch the rest of this year to see where things stand.

But I have to admit that things do not look very good right now.

And Rube, did you just call the post game show?

No. And I don't know why Hamp and OB weren't on WGN. You couldn't access it on the web either.

Cutler would not have pulled off the win today like Mitch did. What Mitch proved today, despite the tough passing day, was that he's a winner. That's important.

And one. This guy REALLY needed a preseason. He will never be great. This year we need good. For MT to be good he needed game speed reps wherever he can find them.

Bears win 13 games with Orton or a prime Jim Miller taking snaps.

With Turdshitsky they're gonna snag about 8.

Sad truth!

What has he done or not done that leads to that opinion? He has to run the plays Nagy calls, right?

I agree. I am very disappointed in the Bear's offense thus far. I am upset with their inability to sustain drives and especially run between the tackles and if they cannot do it, then I think that they are screwed for the season. I have said in the past that our tackles are below average and this continues to be the case. Stupid penalties cost them in this game and our tackles cannot handle good quick DEs.

Nonsense. (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky is a good young quarterback. If you want to put blame, put it on Nagy, our offensive tackles, and receivers not getting open.

The only thing fully preventing me from giving up on him is the fact that he did exactly this same thing last year then week four rolled around and he flipped the switch, then Harrison Smith dirty hit shoulder injury happened and it fucked him up the rest of the year.

He has two main issues: (1) He forgets how to throw (2) it takes him twice as long as a "good" QB to make his second and third read.

(2) is particularly worrisome because it compounds on itself. The fact that it takes him twice as long to make his reads compounds itself for every read he has to make, because by the time he's making his second read most other "good" QB's have made their third. He's just slow, which wouldn't be the end of the world if he could throw the ball consistently.

I'll say this much though, he's really no worse than Deshaun Watson and people who act like the Bears passed on two generation QB talents (instead of just one) are looking at things through a ridiculous and pessimistic lens.

If he did his job, the game wouldn't have been on the line at the end.
He's a bust.

He delivered an INT right to Amos with the game on the line

Only time he's failed. Jordan missed a few game winners.

Rubbish. (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky is much better than those two guys. By a lot.

Based on what? Certainly not his record as to win versus losses. Certainly not based on completion percentage. Certainly not based on his running ability. Calling him a BUST is ludicrous and foolhardy.

Based on what? How many open receivers did he miss? How many sacks did he take? How many interceptions did he throw? How many fumbles did he have?

Who calls the damned plays anyway? Does he or does Nagy? Who is responsible for blocking on pass plays anyway? Or running plays for that matter?

I agree.

Mahomes is the generational talent. Watson is not.

Watson is better than Mitch right now...but he is no where near Mahomes.

Make a Bears prediction for the season. That should be easy considering that you can predict tsunamis and the first 2 picks of the NFL draft nearly 6 months in advance.

Yep. No accuracy, has happy feet in the pocket, seems like he needs to be coddled.

I think he is just stupid.

You don't need a 40 on the Wonderlic to be a good QB. But you have to be smart enough to follow a plan and to execute progressions.

Mitch doesn't seem even marginally smart.

Given the price it's the biggest bust in Chicago sports history.
