I think you know winning percentage is more important than overall total wins. From 2011-2015 Rodgers never finished with a losing record. Brees did three times. So yeah, when overall a QB has better stats and a better winning percentage than another QB I generally say it's pretty easy to say who the best QB is during that time span.
Rodgers does not have better stats than Brees though when you factor in how each player was used. Efficiency tends to go down when you are throwing more.

If Rodgers had better stats you wouldn't have shifted to QB wins.

That's not true. Rodgers stats are better than Brees to the point where I actually find you using counting stats pretty amusing and quaint. I guess you're a huge Stafford guy too. Anyway, I added team performance in there for context. Brees was putting up a lot of large empty counting stats like Stafford did on bad teams. Rodgers was putting up better numbers and competing in the playoffs every year of that window.

What stats am I using that don't count?

All the stats count. You just sound a little ridiculous using total passing yards over a 5 year span to argue one player is better than another

It would be really helpful to have a kicker making the minimum if they weren't paying another kicker the maximum

Well, you are using QB wins, and "efficiency" of a guy who threw a seasons less worth of touchdowns, attempts, and completions.

At least you stopped citing "People have never told me otherwise".

I never used QB wins. I used winning percentage, and Y/A, TD%, and INT% are definitely better metrics to evaluate a QB then Total Passing Yards. But then again, you already know all of this. There's not a single argument you can make in favor of Brees > Rodgers except for longevity. He played worse but he played for longer. That's it.

They aren't when there is such a disparity in number of attempts.

Longevity? We are talking about two 5 year periods!

Longevity was obviously referring to their careers. As I said, Rodgers easily wins when just discussing their best 5 year stretches.

Long time observer, first time chatter but I have to ask: how is the jury still out on Watson/(Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky? Watson's had some incredible road performances (Seattle/New Orleans, two of the last few NFL places where home field still means something) that I've never seen Mitch come close to and Mitch hasn't taken the yearly beatings Watson does. Watson is appointment TV along with Mahomes and of course, the Bears took the one that makes me yearn for Neckbeard to be back

And I detest the Packers with all my being but Aaron Rodgers is the greatest thrower of the football i have ever seen. Drew Brees is a HOF'er but no one would take him over Rodgers if you're playing GM for a day.

Drew Brees is a better quarterback than Rodgers. For years he had a shitty defense and had to face big deficits to lead his team back. That is a fact.

Rodgers dealt with the same situation. That is also a fact. Another fact: Rodgers never went 7-9 3 years in a row while doing it.

Why are you a Packers fan?

My uncle is and he helped raise me in my very early years. I was a lost cause by the age of 7 in 1993 when my mom remarried.

It’s always been odd being a fan of the White Sox, Bulls, Blackhawks, and Packers. It was more weird growing up. I guess I’m just used to it now.

I still give my uncle shit for setting me up for social failure in grade school and high school. Always had to find the one other GB fan and he was always a fucking weirdo.

He kept you upright. In the end making you a Packers fan wasn't that bad.

Yeah, great. League always better when the Raiders are good.

2nd rounder isn’t looking like “practically a 1st” anymore either for the Bear

It's still going to be 2 very nice picks for the Bears.

Do people actually think the Raiders are good because the Bears are slightly worse?

Yeah, and the Bears are a game behind the Raiders and the Bears are a bad team.
