It's really great to see that Giolito and Lopez are now keeping the Sox in games even without their best stuff.

Their development is as critical as any of the offensive players. If they can be confidently locked into 3-4 slots, this whole future pitching staff really starts to take shape.

Reynaldo Lopez has a 5.14 ERA, who da fuck are you crappin?

Shhh....

Let him experience happiness again.

It’s been a while.

Lopez's May numbers have been FAR SUPERIOR to his March stats. Poor Bob

If you subtract a players bad stats from his overall stats, then his overall stats look better. More on the News @ 10.

So the bad numbers don't count. Cool.

That's right. And especially with young pitchers like Giolitto and Lopez, you should be looking to the future rather than worrying about the past.

development implies semi linear progression in the quality of approach and results

I will not take it for granted in the future that you infer what I intend to imply by use of the plain meaning of words.

It's not even July yet. Be like taking a victory lap on 150 of the Daytona 500.

This column:

was like Bernstein bingo. Driveline, video analysis, and non-linear progression.

Is there anyone who is thinking with total confidence that this is who he is now?

He has been shut down with a lat.

Yes, I think this is who he is for the most part. He may not dominate and be 9-2 or whatever like he was, but IMO he will be a solid #2 with the potential to be a legit #1/ace.

Not with total confidence. I still worry this will be a mirage and he regresses next season.

There isn't anything certain about the longevity of a major league pitcher as far as I am concerned but I really like his chances to be a very good starting pitcher for years to come. I think that Lopez is more a question mark but has the indications that he can be good also. Cease is maybe 50-50 in my book.

I do think that they really need to find a top notch left handed starter. Maybe even two to balance out the rotation. My two twin grandkids look like they both may be lefties but they are at least 17 years away from getting drafted. :) :) :)

I'm confident that he's not Scott Ruffcorn, Kip Wells, or (insert favorite highly touted White Sox pitching prospect flame out here). I'm also confident that his career numbers will look closer to 2019 than they do to 2018.

I don't remember Kip Wells doing anything close to this.

No.

I'm fairly certain he will get even better.

He didn't. He never came close to reaching his potential. I'm saying Giolito is going to come a lost closer, if he doesn't hit it altogether.

I'm not confident that he's an ace, but he does appear to be a #2 or #3 type starter on a good team.
