There is no written evidence that George Halas was behind not allowing black players being allowed to play for a time. It was Marshall with the Redskins who led the charge of not allowing blacks on the field. No one has any solid evidence indicting Halas who many black players including the immortal Sayers had nothing but respect and love for. This stuff is unadulterated CRAP. If someone has hard evidence of George Halas urging the owners to ban black players then present it. No one has done it. Halas denied that he did it and no one has been able to prove otherwise.

Seems like while Halas wasn't a vocal one pushing for exclusion of black players, he undoubtedly went along silently with it while making silly excuses.
