Very true. I am a big fan of the steak pita down by section 151 (or at least it used to be... still haven't gone to a game this year.) I think it was around $6 but extremely awesome.

Dr. Ken - your table is not ready. [\Rosenbloom]

Here was my Red Ivy experience. We headed over after the game to see if there might be some room, after reading that the honorable Mr. Zederman had a table for bigfan. As I approached the ropes to the MJH Tier of Acceptance, I knew things didn't look good.

When I asked Mr. Security Man if there was a table up there for the message board people, his smirk told me that a) you're insane and b) there's no chance you're getting up here. So, I pulled out the Zederman name trump card. When I told him that I thought Zederman had reserved a table up here, his smirk told me that a) you're insane and b) there's no chance you're getting up here.

But then, as I'm walking away, I see a Mitch Cumstein sitting in a booth next to a Rock Mamola. So, I tap the big guy with his back to me and ask him for Mitch. Sure enough, I've met bigfan. A pleasure to meet bigfan.

After about an hour of Mitch and bigfan talking to the guy to try to get me up there, I'm granted acceptance. I'VE ARRIVED!! Which I was glad about because I just wanted to tell Dan that I really appreciated the story he had written. It had really hit close to home.

So, at the next break, I start to approach the trio behind the mikes only to be stopped about 8 feet short of my goal at the second level of security by what can only be described as SlapShot Ed's younger, uglier brother. I NEED YOU BACK BEHIND THIS LINE. I said, "What line?", there's no line but his outstretched arms were obviously meant to form "the line".

So, I say hell with it. Not that big of a deal. After the show, about 6:01, I'm pretty sure I saw 2 security guards throw a cape on Mac and shuffle him out of the building while Ugly Ed yelled, "MAC HAS LEFT THE BUILDING".

The other funny thing was after about 2 hours, I'm talking to Mitch and he says it's too bad bigfan wasn't here. I said what are you talking about. That guy told me he was bigfan. So, that kind of threw me off. So, I either met bigfan or someone is going around telling people he is bigfan. You might want to check that out, bf.

Impressions
Good to see Mitch and Jason again. Very nice people.
I was pretty sure that Rock would kick my ass for my earlier musings on the North/Greenstein thing. Luckily, I don't think Rock reads the board that closely.
I stuck around just long enough to insult Joe Ostrowski. Sorry Joe, I was a little drinky - didn't mean to insult you.
bigfan is a tall dude - truly a bigfan and good guy. I don't know why he drinks Jack and tonics, though, sounds pretty gross.
Ran into Harry and Zederman later at O'Hagan's and they were cool folks as well.

All in all - a good time.

Good Dr - are you saying they wouldn't allow an orange faced fellow behind the magical line? That's discrimination!

The funny thing is Dr. I went up to the slap shot ED wannabe and said "how's it going slapshot?" he was not really amused.

Thats the hardest I have ever worked a "bouncer" to get someone into an establishment that wasn't a hot chick. It finally paid off...I think.

It took me awhile to realize Bigfan was Bigfan, the hat through me off.

Your security assessment was bang on, if those guys were in Dallas back in 1963 I can honestly say JFK would be now labeled the best president...ever.

GOOD TIMES!

Also, as I probably babbled, my St Louis Browns throwback jersey was worn to promote neutrality among the cubs-sox masses. Also Fonzo being on the DL and the burrito hot sauce stain also effected this opinion.

If you need to work that hard to get a hot chick in, you may want to reevaluate your hot meter. The bouncers might be doing you a favor.

Maybe it's time for you to find a good woman and settle down, Mitch.

Hard to believe their is someone uglier than me out there. I wish I would of known Doc as the Elizabeth Shue looking Mrs. Slapshoted was at Ivy with Mrs. Mcneil hanging out. I'm sure they both would of made room for you.

A big reason I hate Wrigleville after Cubs games are the douchebags running the bars and even worse are the morons working in them. Maybe back in my 20's is was no big deal but dealing with packed bars and drunk rude people has just worn me down.I was offered 2 very good seats for the Sunday night game I said thanks but no thanks as I don't want to even deal with that place on a Sunday night.

I just want nothing to do with Wrigleyville. I'll show up to the Hawks vs, Red Wings game on New Years day but that will be it.

No need for the apology M.C.

When i was a 180lbs and in my late 20's I used to get ,"Hey you look like Troy Aikmen ", now at 220lbs and in my 40's I get "Hey, you look like Charlie Weiss". I got that at least 20 times walking around the Super Bowl this past year in AZ.A lady even asked me to take a picture with her.

My buddy said , 'Look on the bright side, you have a better reocrd at ND than Charlie Weiss does.

Big props to Bigfan, Dr. Ken, Happy Hour, Cumstein, and everyone else for coming out and saying hello.

I've already forgotten most of the day, but it was sure fun and thanks for taking care of me and Joe in "enemy territory".

Love ya'll, I'm sure there will be more convo in the coming days.

Yous Guys Is welcomes,

Dr. Ken it's Jack and diet thus proving it is me.

Loved the reference of the guys tossing the cape over Mac and hustling him out the door.

The guy that MC asked if he was Slapshit was a bit on the "Over protective Security Guy" Guessing he is a friend or relative of Mac? Reminded me of an Episode of Entourage when Vinces buddy got out of Jail and would beat up anyone that came near him.
