I've seen this countless times where teams will go with an ace too soon and it backfires. And this will backfire. Kershaw is just as beatable/hittable with your #4 starter as he is with your ace on short rest.

Kershaw wasn't that bad. Even Mad Max, who appeared hell bent on not letting any hitter get bat on ball last night in relief, gave up 3 runs early in the must-win WC game. Nats hitters were teeing off on Kershaw's pitches that they made contact with: +10 mph exit velocity on balls in play first time through the order. Maybe Kershaw adjusted 2nd time through the order, cuz he shut them out after that.

Next outing Kershaw could take advantage of the Nats pitch-tippin suspicions and mock different grips for different pitches. Act like he's establishing a breaking ball grip when he's going to throw a fastball and vice-versa

That Astros v. Rays game was a whale of a game. I know this is a pipe dream, but Cole would look excellent in a White Sox uniform next year.

It was a pleasure listening to John Rooney on the radio broadcast of today’s Cardinals game. I loved it even more when the Braves came back in the 9th. The MLB at bat app is solid. Made my journey home from Wisconsin a lot easier.
