The reason Kenny is saying this is as Mac pointed out-to curry favor with Sox fans. He needs to, so when he fails to get anyone at the trade deadline that other teams will add instead, he will need all the good will he can muster. He could have used some when he was failing to get Fukadome, Hunter and Rowand. He was getting ripped pretty bad then, as he couldnt get the okay to sign guys for the money other teams were willing to pay them. That same type situation will rear its head again, when they are unwilling to take on bigger contracts and they don't have the minor league talent to swing deals.

Not surprisingly you are wrong again. Sox never had a shot at Fukudome because he wouldnt sign with a team unless he was the first Japanese player on the team. Also Rowand and Hunter are over 30 and overpaid. Kenny Williams did a fantastic job this offseason. The Garland trade has worked out so far, we didnt need him. Danks and Floyd have worked out. Swisher is starting to hit and continually raise his average. Alexei Ramirez has worked out so far. Carlos Quentin was another great move. He improved the bullpen from the worst in the league to one of the best.

Sox fans are not and will not be upset with KW this year, even if he fails to add another bat or arm at the deadline, although you are probably wrong and I think he will add someone, since he has historically shown the willingness to do so when they are contenders, which they are this season. Dont speak for us, since you are bad enough speaking for Cubs fans.

He added AJ in the begining of the season. Not a deadline deal. Do I have to explain everything to you?

That picture is Geoff Blum you fuckin dumb dick.

Sox will lose the division to the Tigers. And, because the Cubs lost the 3 with the Rays and beat up on the sad sack of monkey crap that is the south side ball club, the Sox will also miss out on the Wild Card. But that is as it should be, as all of Chicago should be focused on the best team in baseball in 2008, as THE CUBS END THE WAIT IN 2008!!! :D :D :D

Oh, lets enjoy 2008 right now. A season like this one is like a fine meal, it should be savored, not quickly devoured. But I expect that 2009, will be truly divine. :D

With so many Cub players in their prime, there ie no reson to believe that their success will not continue next season. The only older player they have, is Edmonds. Everyone else is in their prime-Lee, Ramirez, Zambrano, Soriano, Fukadome, Dempster and DeRosa or is young and likely to improve still-Soto, Theriot, Marmol, &Gallagher. Let the good times KEEP rolling!

I guess Big Z is past his prime -- since you didn't mention him.
Also, the key is enjoying things in October of 2008 -- like the White Sox did in '05.

If you didn't enjoy that whole season, then you wasted a lot of opportunity to revel in something special. I will not do the same. I believe that the Cubs will win the World Series, but I am NOT waiting for October to enjoy it. They have the best record in Baseball and all the elements needed to win-as long as Zambrano's shoulder is truely okay. So it's a great time to be a Cub fan and enjoy the ride.

I never said that I didn't enjoy any other month in 2005. I just enjoyed that fall month the most.
I'm just wondering if you're trying to soak up as much of the good times now because you know October will only bring sorrow.

That was a quick edit with Marmol, who is listed with younger players who are likely to improve. Yes, I had omitted big Z, who now is on the list as you can see. With this team, there are just so many great players. Its an embarrassment of riches we enjoy.

I am confident October will be the best month of all, but I'm going to enjoy it all.

I guess we'll all have to WAIT -- and see -- in 2008.

For the ultimate outcome wherein- THE CUBS END THE WAIT IN 2008, yes. But to enjoy the season and revel in it-NO.

Speak on subjects you know-which should keep you mute most of the time. I have been going to Cubs games for Decades and have witnessed hundreds in person. #'s 705 and 706 coming this week in the Baltimore series Tuesday and Thursday. Going to Sox game #25 on July 5th against Oakland too. I go to lots of games. I have since I was quite young. I go to games on the road, as well as at home and have even been to playoff games on the road. You really guessed wrong on this one.

Next time you think about submitting such a guess, consider the words of Abraham Lincoln: "Better to remain silent and thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.

I'm tired of hearing all these Cubs fans acting like they've won it already. Please. Yeah you won this series, congratulations to you. Summer just began, boys. It'll probably be the same old story in October, only I hope the Cubs make it to the World Series and then lose, so that it's even more painful for these Lovable Losers. Idiots.

Steve, I've seen you post SEVERAL times about the number of Cubs and other baseball games that you have attended.
I was just getting your (Billy) GOAT.
For someone who has written on this site that he loves pulling people's chains, you don't seem to like to be tugged.
I myself have attended baseball games since I was 2 1/2 years old. My first was June 20, 1968 at Busch Stadium. Bob Gibson defeated Fergie 1-0. I have the ticket stub showcased in my basement. It's not as prominently displayed as all of the items I've collected from the 2005 White Sox season.
