Hey, burn shit and kill people over this Cubs fans. You deserve it.

Problem though, Beardown, is that it ends up being a big series for the Sox.. they lost 3 games in the standings to Minnesota.

When does the 2005 championship become 4 touchdowns in a high school football game?

Wow, Stone! Taking this series personally?

Piniella: Won a World Series as a manager, taken three different franchises to the playoffs.

Stone: very fine color man, but has never done shit as a manager or front office executive.

As soon as the 1969 Cubs, that won nothing, are no longer worshiped.

From yesterday,

"and now, we'll have to stop because a fan has thrown the ball back on the field, and in spite of that lovely tradition here, it's still 2-0 Sox."
Bitter!

And actually it's fine if he's bitter or whatever, but if he's going to question Piniella's competence as a manager, he loses some credibility. A little surprising.

Not as much fun as DJ yesterday, claiming that the foul-by-inches home run on Friday, though it did miss the pole, might have possibly hit some of the "brackets" that are attached to some parts of the pole. LOL!! Dude, it was foul, and you lost! When you start talking about brackets and zoom into a foul pole with a 12-foot lens, you are a desperate, desperate guy!

Absolutly. My point is I'm no more pissed about being swept by the Cubs as I would be being swept by any other team. That's all I'm saying.

Not really. That's never been my style. If you read anything I've said here you would know that. I've complimented the Cubs all year.

I'm not trash talking but from about the 7th inning on Friday to the end, the Sox played like crap. Ozzie made some boneheaded decisions. They looked like the Cubs did when they played the Rays.

Sox better get their shit together or this could be like when Sox sent the Cubs into a spin a few years back.

Shoutout to ARam - now I know what it feels like to have Carlos Lee on our team.

I thought you meant in general in Chicago. Not specific to this board. No. I don't hear much about the '69 Cubs on this board.

I'm actually hearing less in Chicago cuz, let's face it, those '69 Cubs fans are becoming dead.

Yeah. It was meant to be a little snide. It's all in fun. With a little bit of a mean spirit.

I'll say it again. You guys are good. Very good. You are the favorites to win the World Series. If the Sox make the World Series I don't want to face the Cubs cuz I think you're better than us. I hope the Cubs get upset so we won't have to face them.

There. Happy. That's the ultimate compliment.

Spooning with Frank, I'm guessing. This had to be a real shot to their collective self-esteem.

Sox fans, don't be so cavalier about how unimportant this series is. Minnesota is now only a game and a half back. I'm not going to burn or kill anyone. The extent of my celebration was having some key lime pie, which I was gonna do anyway.

Last thing we need, as Cub fans, is accolades from a patronizing, peckerhead like you. Keep 'em.
You are much more entertaining when you are casting aspersions through back-handed compliments.

The series is just another home sweep really. After winning 14 in a row at home, this is nothing new. The Sox do very well against teams with crappy pitching-The Pirates, with the highest ERA in the National League, The Royals, who have just 1 good starter in Bannister, despite paying Meche like a quality starter. Put them up against a better pitching team and the bats go quiet. The Cubs have the best hitting team in the majors, average wise-they were hitting .281 going into the game (Boston is second at .280). The Cubs also have the lowest ERA of all N.L. teams. They have the best record in the majors. THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN! Still, it was a bit extra special to take it to the Sox. How sweep it is. :D

It was bad Curious. Twins are playing well. We also brought back the Tigers and Indians a little bit.

Mr. Reason, duely noted.
