I think they are just trying to shake things up and make room for young guys to get in there. Trying to just see if they can turn things around.

1. Never pay a RB
2. Never pay a mediocre QB

Not generational backs. When healthy Gurley is a generational back. He had a history of knee problems though.

The Jaguars have a better shot at the playoff than LA. Really disappointed this happened but I'm glad Ramsey is going to a team that's going nowhere.

So the Rams picked first overall in 2016 and, barring a trade, will not pick in the first round again until 2022.

They have some analytics dogma in their front office that first-round picks are way overvalued. You could tell before but now its really obvious. It flatly hasn't worked though, they've loaded up on picks outside the top-100 and its resulted in a bunch of pitiful classes. Quantity over quality doesn't seem to be the way yet the Rams are doubling down on it. This + the massive amount of money they are paying Goff has me believing the 2021 pick could be top-five and the 2020's in general may be a really dark decade for LA football.

This is a bad trade.

Before today by far the Rams' two best players are the two guys they drafted in the first round in back-to-back years. Yet they seem intent on never picking in the first round again.

Its a bad strategy. You want first crack at the elite talent, even if it doesn't always pan out you've got a much better shot of a guy becoming a true star that way than hoping you strike gold in the fourth.

It already does. Their OL and receivers (except Cupp) look terrible and they basically have two really elite defenders mired in a sea of shit.
