IMO the experiment is over. Mitch is not a starting QB and you need to find a replacement this off season.

Mitch keeps the ball in-bounds and doesn't throw it away, the half runs out. They were under 40 so no play clock. No situational awareness.

Was the Bears defense 'simply outstanding' as Thom just said heading into the half or is the narrative that he had regardless?

They weren't bad, but the Saints offense pretty much controlled the 1st half. The Bears defense has to make game changing plays and can't just be good with this offense.

If the rule you followed lead you to this, of what use was the rule?

He isn't running anymore. I assume that's related to the injury, but that may have been his most consistent role in the offense.

His down the field accuracy has never been good. Occasionally, he can make a play, but it's never been a feature.

Other teams have made comments about him not being very good. We should start listening.

Because Mitch is significantly worse and easier to scheme for since he can’t even scramble these days let alone hit receivers in stride
