They tried running the ball. They were in 2nd and 8, 9, or 10 after each run. It wasn't working.

Nothing was yesterday.

Are you talking about the game from yesterday? They. Had. Seven. Carries. They didn’t try to run the ball.

I believe the first four drives started with a run that went literally nowhere. The short passing game wasn't working either. So, when its 2nd down and 8 or 9, you can't really run.

Everything sucked yesterday.

On one of them, he schemed Anthony Miller open for a long gain. Might have even went for a TD. QB missed the throw.

That was Mitch in a nutshell. That was a touch pass that wasn't even close to being executed.

IF they had an offensive line that could block, most of the problems would be fixed. When a quarterback gets the snap and he is facing people in his face as soon as he gets the ball, it is a big problem. Defenses now are stacking the box and attacking the offense. I do not know how this can get fixed this season. It doesn't seem possible.

I really do blame Pace for this being allowed to happen. What the hell was he thinking in re-signing Massie and Leno and not drafting a replacement for Long? :x :x :x

Yeah this didn't happen yesterday. Most of the time, Mitch had time to throw. He either missed open guys or missed the throws. Outside of a couple throws late in Denver, and a couple drives against a god awful Redskins team, (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky has been dogshit all year. He's the Trump of Quarterbacks. Just worthless.

Nagy just won’t run the ball. After the Eagles playoff game he said he should have run it more. After the Packers opener he said he should have run it more. He had an extra week to scheme up an offense and the result was 7 rushes. It’s just not gonna happen.

And only 5 of those were RB carries.

17 yards rushing. Wanna go 3 and out that way instead? You know what's missing with this year's running game and last year? Jordan Howard. Maybe, just maybe, Howard overcompensated for Nagy's terrible running construction and schemes.

God help me, but I am on team Mr. Reason. Also, I told Mrs. newper yesterday that I am officially done with (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky as of that game. Lets move on. I would trade for Bridgewater if I could work out some deal with NO. (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky deserves a job as a backup QB somewhere, but not here, and I don't want to see him overthrowing wide open guys anymore.

He looks terrified. And his mechanics are horrible.

I can't believe how much pace missed with this pick.

But when the Steelers can scheme a win with a 4th string QB behind center, Nagy should be able to do the same.

I look at that pudwack down in AZ as an example, too. Kyler Murray went 14-21 for 104 yards. Unimpressive QB play but he was helped with over 25 rushes for over 125 yards from the RB.

If that goofball Kingsbury can run the ball then it shouldn't be so hard for Nagy.

No RPO, just call a straight running play with the 3rd round pick.

I see where Dan Wetzel threw Cam Newton's name as a possible trade target.

He throws his shoulders open instead of staying tucked and the ball flies wide, just like a pitcher. I don't know why the great Dave Ragone doesn't see it

I'm referring to his front foot rarely being planted which makes every throw sail.

And also signals that he is afraid of contact as well.

Cutler used to throw off his back foot as well.

We have figured him out. Maybe we should be his coaches.

(Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky does something that Cutler never figured out and that is protecting the football. As awful as (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky has been this season he still only has 2 turnovers. Cutler was a turnover machine and would give away games with his decision making. He also had a top 5 to 10 WR and arguably the 3rd best RB in Bears history to work with. This Bears team doesn't have anything close to that. Allen Robinson has been the lone bright spot and he's still about the 5th best WR in our division.

It's hard to turn the ball over when you never complete a pass longer than 5 yards.

Cutler was a turnover machine at times. He could still get an offense up and and down the field though. Mitch has seemed to forget how to do that.

Mitch doesn't even look like the player I saw he rookie year. The last 4 mins of the game were trash but I would like to see him call his own plays in a hurry up style offense. I suspect Nagy's controlling nature is a bigger problem than we understand.

That being said protecting the football will keep you in many games. It looked better last year when he didn't look like a 4th string quarterback.

Turnover free football coupled with 70 yards passing over three quarters is not going to win you many games. I don't think Mitch is smart enough to call his own plays.

I think intelligence may be an issue with a few guys. When you practice the same opening play dozens of times for a week and an offensive lineman still misses his block that's a great sign of that.

Every offensive player has regressed except Robinson. None have improved. I think it's clear that coaching is one of the top 2 problems.

There are some coaching issues for sure, but the biggest anchor for the Bears seems to be bad QB play. In real time we can all see that there are guys open that Mitch either doesn't throw to or physically can't throw to. Its very 'fustrating.'

At times, the Bears were able to move the ball against the Vikings and Raiders. Daniel also completed long passes (relative term) in each game.
